5 out of 5 eggs16 GB Mushkin Redline DDR3 1866

Pros: Pretty low profile for the bigger heatsinks. Runs smooth and fast with no problems @ 1866

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not really committed to any brand when it comes to ram but after this set, we may have a new winner.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat customer support!!!!

Pros: I had to two consecutive defective parts while building my computer and it took me a while to figure out which parts were defective. One or both of the ram (probably just one) ended up being bad, and this happens, I understand that. I've been warned about this. I let the company know and they were fast to respond and super nice about it. Within one day I had this problem solved and sent out my ram to be replaced. After spending the day with bad customer service on the other defective part, this was a welcoming and wonderful experience. The ram itself worked well for the first month and I was very please with how fast it was and how well my game worked with it. I look forward to seeing if the new ram solves the final issue I have with my computer.

Cons: Only that I got bad ram. Again, this is to be expected every now and then.

5 out of 5 eggsGood ram

Pros: Good ram no issues.
Faster timing for less price (compare to ripjaws)

*see other thoughts for clearing dimensions*

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have this ram sitting in ASUS Z87-DELUXE/QUAD with Noctua NH-D14 cooler sitting on top of my CPU. For those who are familiar with this CPU cooler is very large and a lot of ram with heatsinks have clearing issues.

This ram does not have those issues it sits perfectly flush with the cooler and doesn't block it. Since the cooler is so enormous its heat sink can even help with the heat from the ram. I'm sure some will argue that extra heat from ram entering the cpu cooler will diminish its affect but those familiar with NH-D14 will know that with the enormous heat sink and 2 fans running through it this wont be an issue.

For those who are getting NH-D14 and thinking of getting the trident series ram I would recommend this instead because the trident will not fit under NH-D14 with its heatsink on and this does.

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin DDR3 1866

Pros: Bought this for a new build with a Gigabyte Z87X-OC motherboard. Over a month later and working perfectly at rated speed.. The memory was on sale, and around 20 bucks cheaper than slower memory I had been considering.

Cons: For those really concerned about aesthetic, this memory comes with silver pressure clips not shown on the Newegg image. These are supposed to insure good contact with the thermal pad. You can see accurate images of the memory on Mushkin"s site. Not a con for me but I suppose it might be for some.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Works as advertized. 1866MHz on my hero. Looks good on it as well. No clearance issues with a large 140mm heatsink.

Cons: NOPE, except i do wish I caught this on a sale.

Other Thoughts: Sandwich

2 out of 5 eggsI don't understand what's wrong!

Pros: It went on sale and I got it for a good price.

Cons: The RAM seems unstable. I'm hesitant to say that the RAM was DOA, but it may have been.

My brother and I built identical desktops. However, my PC immediately starting having problems because it would blue screen and restart randomly a couple times a day. Yet, the other PC worked perfectly. We figured it may be bad RAM so we swapped the RAM between the two PCs. Sure enough the problem transferred to the other PC! So ok, it was bad RAM. So I get a replacement from newegg and in the meantime my brother just let me borrow one of his sticks and everything worked great. Eventually I got the replacement. I put in the RAM and start it up and immediately everything starts screwing up. Resolution issues and blue screens of death.

So I don't understand. Did I really get 2 orders that were DOA? or am I missing something that is causing the problem? But how could the problem have transferred when we swapped RAM?

I'm thinking of just returning them, getting a refund, and buying something else.

Other Thoughts: This is the RAM I got:
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model 997104

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin quality, as always!

Pros: DDR3-1866 and CL 9. Installed perfectly at rated speed...simply set the XMP and I now was rocking 16gb of RAM instead of 8, and with only two sticks, so there is less strain on the memory controller.

Beautiful heatsink and very high quality chips. Mushkin only bins the top chips for their redlines.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've never had any Mushkin go bad on me, and have used this brand almost exclusively for 4 years now.

You really can't go wrong with them.

4 out of 5 eggsNice RAM

Pros: Works very well. Has nice heat spreaders so shouldn't get warm at all. Looks pretty nice too.

Cons: Heat Spreaders are a bit large, but since this is my first time building a computer I don't know if this is how large they should be but they are.

Other Thoughts: CAUTION: For me personally they don't run at 1866 MHZ without some tweaking in the BIOS. This was easy to do and not the RAM's fault I suppose, more likely the motherboard's.
