1 out of 5 eggsWon't run at 1866

Pros: Came fast, but then it shipped from Edison, NJ so it should. Gotta love the Egg.

Cons: RAM modules wouldn't run at 1866, even when I tried to up the voltage to 1.65 and the command rate to 2. Rest of the settings were as listed, 9-9-9-27. Have to run it at 1600 at 1.5V to boot. Like previous reviewer suggested, it would appear the timings are too tight on these. I'll still contact Mushkin support, but for now I'd recommend staying away from these modules.

3 out of 5 eggsAn Update

Pros: Quality memory.

Cons: Perhaps the timings on these memory are overly tight?

Other Thoughts: An update to my review to report that I got these modules to pass the memtest86+ tests on the EVGA X79 SLI/132-SE-E775-K2 motherboard. While I can't say precisely what resolves the issue, I:

1. Lowered the voltage to 1.375 V
2. All memory settings to manual.
3. 1600 MHz, 8-8-8-23 settings
4. tRFC 150, tREFI 9500
5. tRC 32

These were found by starting from a configuration that gave relatively few errors, and continuing to tweek settings to reduce memtest86+ errors until they were all gone. Lowering the voltage seemed to be important. I got the impression that one can't be overly conservative, nor overly aggressive with the memory settings. And I do consider the main trouble to lie with the motherboard, which is a bit notorious (but the most affordable X79 board).

3 out of 5 eggsMaybe, maybe not...

Pros: Quality brand

Cons: Can't get memory to run without memtest86+ errors at any setting with my motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I have an EVGA X79 SLI 132-SE-E775-K2 motherboard. This memory does not seem to want to play well with the motherboard. I've RMA'd one memory set back to newegg, but the replacement set behaves the same - memtest reports errors, particularly in Test 6. I am running at 8-8-8-27 @1600 with other manual memory settings which seem to minimize the errors, but there are still errors. Voltage, 1T/2T, XMP, Automatic, Manual, etc, etc seems to make no difference, although I suspect there might be a magical setting that will work o.k.

I suspect the main problem lies with the motherboard, however, which seems to be problematic/not user friendly.

Curiously, the model number 994105 is not recognized by Mushkin's support request system (and I waited for Mushkin support on the phone on hold for about an hour before I gave up) , so I am at a loss for how to resolve the issue.
