Pros: On the cheaper side with good timings. Probably the best bang for the buck. Once you find good voltage settings, its very stable.

Cons: XMP was way too 'extreme' for my 5930k + ASUS x99 Deluxe

Other Thoughts: XMP profile is very aggressive on my ASUS X99 Deluxe and it would never boot from that mode. The memory isn't in the ASUS QVL so maybe a future BIOS update will fix it... for now I recommend manual settings. 2400Mhz at 100Mhz base clock is pretty stable at stock 1.2V. To hit a stable 2666Mhz was tough. After lots of tweaking, I got upset and manually set the voltage to 1.3V. This fixed everything! From my reading, this voltage is maybe on the aggressive side, but its hard to argue with stability and meeting advertised speeds.

Read lots of guides on X99 overclocking... even guides about Z97 are relevant. It will help get around XMP issues. If you aren't going to overclock, get the base DDR 4.
