2 out of 5 eggsOCZ memory

Pros: Great price for 4g (2x2) sticks of memory. Used same setup in previous builds with no issues.

Cons: One stick DOA! When sent back for exchange Newegg refunded the money with no issues, but then had to turn around and buy more memory.

Other Thoughts: Would like to see testing data sheets that show they passed.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the problem. We do our best to insure that all RAM is packaged safely. Please discharge yourself on a large metal surface or on your case before handling memory. A wrist strap for grounding is a good idea as well.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsLearn some please

Pros: Extremely fast considering the fact it's mid level performance grade. It is extremely overclockable with nothing more than a mild voltage mod. Have taken this beyond 800 mhz with zero hesitations. Loves 64 bit Mandriva which is why I use this.

Cons: NONE!!!

Other Thoughts: I use this ram exclusively in all PC's I build running 64 bit Mandriva. All are gaming machines using ATI and NVidia video cards and I have see well over 500 fps in several titles that most people are struggling to hit 60 fps in with a 32 bit Microsquash system. This is best used in 64 bit operating systems and as far as I'm concerned Linux is the only one to use. Mandriva, this ram, Intel or eVGA motherboards, and a crossfire or SLI video array and I doubt there is any game including Supreme Commander that will even make it break a sweat. BUY IT IF YOU WANT A FAST GAMING PC. My system is a 945 Pressler, D955XBK mobo, 2 74 gig raptors in RAID 0, 2 HD2600XT DDR4 versions, 8 gigs of this ram, Atrix Black Dragon case, Thermaltake liquid cooling on the gpu's, 64 bit Linux Mandriva. I hate Microsquash. Transgaming Cedega.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's memory.

Pros: Retail packaged, nice integrated heat sinks, memory came up and counted up fine.

Cons: None. It's memory. Assuming it came up (and it did), what could possibly go wrong?

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Super fast. Compatible with almost every ddr2 board. Looks great and runs cool.

Cons: Vist 32-bit does not support more than 3.75 GB ram. If you put 4GB in the pc and your video card has 512MB, you only get to use 3.5GB ram.

Other Thoughts: If you want to use all of this ram, get Windows XP or Vista in 64- bit mode.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are happy that this memory is working out well for you. Vista limitations are a Microsoft issue. Your OCZ memory sounds like it should have been given 5 eggs. ;)
Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsI should of known better

Pros: They did fit into the dimm slots OK.

Cons: I should of known better, but you know what happens. I wanted to upgrade my PC to a total of 8 Gigs of System Memory. I started up the system and checked the bios, great 8.0Gigs of memory. When I started checking out the same bandwidth tests. I started dropping in performace and everything else.

Other Thoughts: SO GO WITH WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE USED IN THE PAST.
I had 4 gigs of Corsair XMS2 running at 4-4-4-12.
Stupid me couldn't keep his pants on, or I should say, "wait for 2 more days" Live and Learn? NEVER

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry you were disappointed. 8gb of RAM will not increase memory bandwidth over a 4gb setup, or improve common benchmarks. 8gb works well for a server or someone running a 64 bit operating system and memory intensive applications such as video rendering,CAD design software or similar. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs...where the puck is going!

Pros: Like it or not, Vista and Office 2007 is--and all future programs will be--extremely demanding of RAM. Because most ATX boards are limited to 4 memory slots, you're better off buying a set of 2x2Gigs in case you require additional memory in the future. With 4x1g, you will be unable to add memory without scraping your 1g sticks. These are very "good value", comparitively.

Cons: None, really. Other than the fact that 2gig sticks are relatively new and untested over time, these are the way to go.
