Unleash the power of Platinum. OCZ's Platinum Edition DDR3 memory module set the standards for high speed memory modules. This dual channel 2GB kit is rated to run at 1800Hz and has CL 8-8-8-24 timings for blazing performance. Each kit is 100% hand tested for performance and compatibility.
The XTC heat spreaders are designed to take advantage of the micro convection currents that occur in the channels between the individual memory chips. The platinum mirrored honeycomb design facilitates maximum heat distribution. The rigid frame, in addition to proclaiming to the world what memory you use also helps to reinforce structural rigidity in the module.
OCZ knows that you want to win, and that means pushing your system to the limits. That's why they have a 1.95V EVP plan. You can push you're the VDIMM on your motherboard up to 1.95V without voiding your warranty.

Speedy RAM
- Pros: Great RAM, especially with a Newegg deal and mail-in rebate stacking up. Went in at 1333 and bumped up to 1800 without any trouble whatsoever. Smokin' fast. Haven't OC'd it, and probably won't. Plenty fast for games.
- Cons: It looks like the heatspreaders are glued on to the RAM, and one of mine (out of 4) started to separate. Pressed it on again and it hasn't budged that I've noticed.
Nothing to be concerned about, but good to be aware.
- Other Thoughts: Just from reading hundreds of these reviews, I know that alot of speedy RAM tends to ship at 1333, and must be juiced up to stock speeds by the purchaser. It's not a con, and it isn't really difficult to do, but it would be cool (for us noobs) if the RAM shipped at the advertised speeds.
Okay
- Pros: Ran fast, even with only 1GB
- Cons: One DIMM dead on arrival. The single stick would not boot at 1800mhz, even with loosened timings. Would not even boot at 1600mhz. The remaining stick stopped working after I applied a BIOS update to my mobo for improved DDR3-1800 support.
- Other Thoughts: Using eVGA 790i Ultra board and q9300. Supposedly has problems with DDR3 1800 and 2000, but many people claim that theirs work fine.
RMA'd. Hopefully my second set will work fine, and hopefully it will run the advertised speeds.

Great Value
- Pros: Excellent price after rebate. Probbaly the lowest price DDR3 modules you can get with decent speed.
- Cons: voltages are a little high compared to newer generation of DDR3 modules
One died.
- Pros: It's great. After just over a year, 3 of my 4 sticks are still going fine and running great oced.
- Cons: 1 has died. Thinking it was the hard drives, I replaced all 4 hdd I had and finally decided to test the ram stick by stick.
All of them ran memtest over 1000% except this one hit about 60% and errored.
- Other Thoughts: Decent enough, but now I have a hard time trusting OCZ ram. Though it's never failed me in the past. It happens.

Great, Love the tech support
- Pros: Had trouble with modules working with my P5Q3 Deluxe board (problem more consistent with the board, rather than memory, apparently) OCZ Tech Forums were immensly helpful in resolving the issues quickly and painlessly by offering all sorts of profiles and settings to get the board running smoothly with these modules. Never had such a great experience trying to get tech support from the manufactuer.
- Cons: First modules had to be RMA'd, but NewEgg was fast and I actually had my new memory next day to finish the installaton. Though listed as being optimized for ASUS boards, mine would not immediatly work with te P5Q3 Deluxe and required much tweaking.
- Other Thoughts: This is the first time I have tried to put some time into overclocking, OCZ forums not only provided endless solutions to getting the system to run, but was a significant help for me getting a FAST system
