Stylish Yet Disappointing

Pros: Low price and flashy appearance. It does indeed run DDR2 1000 speeds at SPD timings.

Cons: This kit does not offer any latency flexibility, so forget about trying to run it at anything lower than 5's. The bandwidth is also limited.

Other Thoughts: OCZ seems to be riding the legendary EL Platinum Rev. 2 naming as far as it'll take them...

I am disappointed in the OC potential of this memory. I recently sold this OCZ RAM and will try a 4 GB Patriot CL-4 kit instead.

Pros: great price for the size/performance, nice heat spreaders, does OC nicely at std 1.8v (during testing; I don't OC during normal use, plenty of power at std);

Cons: -have been getting regular, unfathomable Event Log errors: "Unknown error on L0 => L0", Event ID 14, nv (never b4; no luck googling; my newish system= PCCHIPS A13G+ v3 mobo w/nvidia MCP61 Geforce 405 chipset, AMD LE-1620 2.4g CPU, excellent air flow/cooling, good PSU), but no noticeable corruption/effects (so far)...

Other Thoughts: *Warning: only 64-bit OS's (xp64, vista64) can make *FULL* use of any 4gb ram! (addressing issue, for 32-bit's; google it)...
-as usual, it's Micro$hit's fault, not the ram... and having > 3gb usable is still VERY nice (! NO MORE SWAP FILE ! nice speed improvement there, just set it yourself), tho in most cases it's overkill above 2gb... (watch memory loads, you'll see, especially for xp);
-AND, OF COURSE, NEWEGG ROCKS!

Pros: Very cheap, especially for DDR2-1000. Works fine at its rated speed.

Cons: Only allowed 1 rebate per person, I wish I could get 2 sets.

Other Thoughts: Haven't received my rebate yet but I have sent in 3 other OCZ rebates and never had a problem. I hope they renew the rebate after the 31st so I can pick up another set.
