Don't fear the Reaper. OCZs Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) is an innovative cooling solution for high-speed memory modules. By utilizing a heat pipe and radiator fins both, the heat generated is dissipated faster than standard heat spreader designs. This matters to you because it helps facilitate improved overclocking performance, while improving longevity and stability of your memory.

This 4GB kit ensures optimal performance via an ideal combination of low voltage requirements, speed, and latency, so it's a great match for the Nehalem platform to unleash performance you could only dream of before.

  • newegg Reaper Heat Pipe Conduit The Reaper HPC is an innovative cooling solution developed by OCZ to effectively minimize heat produced by high-speed memory. As heat rises into the thermo-conductive copper heat pipe conduit, it is dissipated through the strategically-placed compact aluminum fin array.
  • newegg 2.15V EVP The OCZ EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) feature allows performance enthusiasts to use a VDIMM of 2.15V without invalidating their OCZ Lifetime Warranty.
  • newegg DDR2 1066 DDR2 1066 delivers incredible performance and platform compatibility with up to 8.5GB/s memory bandwidth per channel for scintillating work and gaming power!

1 out of 5 eggsJunk plus Warranty Advisory

Pros: Good Looks

Cons: Normally run Corsair thought I'd give them a try. 5-5-5-18 and 2.1 volts 1066mhz hard locks memtest v4.20 in less than 2 minutes, both sticks. 800mhz runs ok. Had been getting some wierd errors thinking it was likely AMD 9600 Black with the TLB error or a bad core. 9600 is just fine yet.

Other Thoughts: OCZ unable to replace. So ok fine. Offered to refund current market value based on competitor, ok fine. OCZ based current market value on competitor model memory sans cooling fins or piping, just a simple aluminum case heat sink. NOT COMPARABLE. OCZ is currently standing on their offer and round we go. Ya i'ts only 5 bucks to get to the comparable replacement but that's not the point. The point is as a as a merchant they have product and service to offer. I can understand a bad run of a part. However, these guys do this every day. Intentionally "Low-Ballin" me betting on my ignorance, responding with "And the part you bought it for a while and have been using them for a while and we can’t...." How would you like to have one of your families machines go down 5 states away and be counting on these guys to take care of them? Good it happened I was about to pull the trigger on one of their SSD Drives.

Manufacturer Response:

We aplogize for the problem. We do our best within our guidelines for replacement. We rate replacement amounts based on a replacement with equivalent performance, and not aesthetics. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent - if you can find it.

Pros: Excellent Memory. Looks cool, stays cool and performs great.

Cons: Cannot find another pair. I have looked and looked to buy another pair of this ram, and I've had no luck. Im stuck with 4 gigs of this, and not able to get to 8 gigs in my build.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes not run at 1066 as advertised.

Pros: The Design.

Cons: Does NOT run at 1066 stably, BSOD one after another randomly. Sure it might run at 1066 for about 2 hours, but that's it. It'll crash.

Runs at 800 fine.

Other Thoughts: If you want 1066, do not buy this one.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for 3 months

Pros: Very solid set of memory at a good price

Cons: One of the two sticks died 3 months in... too late to return it, so I'm down to one stick until I can again replace it.

Other Thoughts: Probably bad luck, but it still sucks.

5 out of 5 eggsFast & reliable

Pros: Working great in my Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H for over 2 years now. Absolutely zero failures and they run pretty cool with those heat pipes (I have a temp sensor on them).

Cons: Heat pipes would probably get in the way of some CPU coolers.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works at rated speed on an EVGA 780i motherboard. Narrow enough that I could put another set into the tightly spaced slots.

Cons: Over priced.

Other Thoughts: I wish I would have grabbed these when they were dirt cheap. The ddr3 memory has eclipsed ddr2 and is now cheaper.

3 out of 5 eggsThey look Good

Pros: They do look good and the heat sinks work well. They are easy to handle when installing thanks to the design.

Cons: Only one of the two worked. One works in every compatible board I tried and the other worked in none.

Other Thoughts: A lot can happen in shipping. I'll bet it worked when it left the factory.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Memory

Pros: Works great, stable memory. Does not make my system reboot and no more Blue screen of death. My Corsair that was 2x the price would crash my system left and right. Tested the memory. tests came back as memory had errors. RMA'd the memory through Corsair and guess what same issue. OCZ has fixed all my problems and I have not had a single issue since.

Cons: I wish I could afford the 4GB sticks....

Other Thoughts: When is this economy going to turn around?
Why can Sec 8 people live in a luxury apt building and ruin it while others pay full price and get to see the trashy people living right next door, when you paid the higher rents to get away from the hood.
