5 out of 5 eggsRe-Cap

Pros: Well since my last post 5/19/09 these have been doing great. I have run them through a lot of test and Over clocks. Not i single problem so i bought another set,and i am using them at 8-8-8-24 1800 Mhz at 8Gigs for now.My MOB is a Evga 790i For The Win witch might make it easy to work with these memory sticks.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These OCZ's will do 2000Mhz at 9-9-9-27 and just a bump in voltage 1.975 stable also will do 7-7-7-21 T1 1600 stable lower voltage so they do have alot of room to mess with the settings. Rean the forums they can help.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked right out of the box!

Pros: The heatsinks are beefy, and the cooling pipes are a neat idea. I put them in my Asus P5E3 Mobo and they fired right up with default settings. I had Corsair Dominator memory before, but it was only 2gb worth, and running Vista Ultimate, it was just not enough and you can longer purchase the 8-8-8-24 series of memory and the the 4gb version of the 8-8-8-29 is just to expensive to justify the upgrade. These worked out nicely and I couldn't be happier.

Cons: No cons to speak of :)

Other Thoughts: I didnt give them 5 stars cause of NewEggs packaging. I mean sure it got to me the next day, I LOVE THAT!, but why in the world would you put the memory at the bottom of the box UNPROTECTED and have all the paper packing stuff on top of it? That is not really good packaging. Sorry NewEgg, but you dropped the ball on that one, luckily the box and contents were unharmed. They could have done a better job! I miss the old air packets they use to use.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, sort of

Pros: -Bought it for a reasonable price. Name sounds cool.

Cons: - Doesn't work at advertised ratings. It seems OCZ is very optimistic with their timings and memory is not likely to function as specified. I would be surprised if most people achieve what they promise for memory timings.

-Not stable at 1600MHz using slow 9-9-9-27 timing, 1.90v.

- The effectiveness of the heat piping is questionable. It mostly adds to the bulk and size of the modules.

- Default voltage of 1.90v is well above DDR3 standard of 1.5v. This explains the high heat production.

Other Thoughts: Rebates can be very annoying OCZ.

In general, you are better off with another brand I think...

5 out of 5 eggsworks like a charm

Pros: This memory works great on my Evga 790i For The Win mob [bought at Newegg] . If you want to run this at 1800MHz then what i did was to set the timings at 9-8-8-24 2T and voltage at 1.95. It also will run at 2000MHz at the same settings. So it seems to overclock very well. Read the forums it will help.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: not sure if 8 gigs is needed but a second set would be nice to have on hand for back ups. Also you must have your vista sp1 update installed in order to get this memory to run at 1800MHz speeds on this mob

4 out of 5 eggsReaped...

Pros: Worked out of the box set to auto... with the voltage manually set to 1.85

Cons: Won't Run stable at high frequency with AMD 955 quad...

Other Thoughts: always read the fine print... from ocz...

* All Modules are tested in two module kits. Due to additional bus load, four module configurations may have to be run at lower frequency and relaxed latencies for stable operation. Test specifications are based on dual core CPUs only. If quad core CPUs are used, higher bus thresholds and core arbitration may necessitate lowering the memory frequency below tested specs.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome memory as usual for OCZ

Pros: Nice heat spreaders, Very fast, easy setup, great phone tech support, and great frums tech support.

Cons: Heat speaders can be a problem because of their tall size, but I planned for it and it was fine. And of course price, but you do get what you pay for and that is fewest hassles of any memory company to date that I've had to deal with!

Other Thoughts: I have bought many brands over the years and I've yet to have a single issue with any OCZ memory. I put these things in my Asus P5Q3 Dlx (P45), DFI LP UT X48-T3RS, and currently my GigaByte GA-EX58-Extreme motherboards with no issues whatsoever. I had bought G. Skill, Corsair(My first pair to have issues), and Patriot, but these were the only ones to work flawlessly without needing to call tech support or visit their forums (I've had to in the past, but it was always a motherboard BIOS issue that was soon resolved)

3 out of 5 eggsWhat happened to OCZ

Pros: Suppose to be fast..... Love the heat spreaders. Using 8 GB of it.

Cons: Cannot get it to work in my mobo like it should. not stable. Dealt with tech support but can not get it to run how it should. .

PRICE!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Giving it Average because Im not done playing with it and the fact that all I use is OCZ and this is the first time I have ahd a problem.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, this product is sold as a 4gb kit, and is rated when as a 4gb kit. When you double the load on your memory controller to 8gb, speeds will drop and timings will need to be loosened. This is the nature of memory and motherboards. If you haven't yet visited our support forums, we will be glad to help you with settings. It's typically easier to optimize a system on the forums than on the phone, due to time constraints. Please follow the link below.
Thank you

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to install...NO tech specs with the RAM..you have to look it up...so NO PROS!!

Cons: OCZ is playing games with rebates....I bought this RAM on 8/5...and the NEXT day submitted the CORRECT rebate request exactly as specified in the OCZ rebate sheet...I received a card today saying "WE REGRET WE CANNOT HONOR YOUR CLAIM BECAUSE THE POSTMARK DATE DOES NOT FALL WITHIN PROGRAM DATES"
THIS is BOGUS!!! DO NOT BUY OCZ products if you want any kind of rebate...now they have my original UPC codes and all the other hoops they make you jump through and I am out $50 because of their games with rebates....These rebates for this RAM have been continuous and the SAME for over a MONTH..they are playing games and not honoring their rebates...DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we use a rebate house for processing and unfortunately they can make mistakes. We apologized for the problem. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in the rebate section for assistance. We will see that the error is corrected and that you get paid.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsPretty sweet

Pros: Well, these baby's are as good as advertised. I can run them 8-8-8-27 1T ddr3 1800. Or I can run them at 7-6-6-24 1T ddr3 1600. Haven't tried taking them above ddr3 1800 speeds but am willing to bet it'll work. Using a DFI X48.

Cons: None, unless you are afraid of speed

Other Thoughts: You are going to need some serious northbridge voltage on the X48 chipset to get these running 1T at the speeds I mentioned above. For ddr3 1600 I need 1.5v and ddr3 1800 I needed 1.6. I can't speak to their ability on nvidiot chipsets.
