5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Solid packaging, easy install, Gigabyte MB recognized memory correctly. I have had no crashes or other issues. Solid performing memory for over 2 months now.

Cons: The rebate process is horrible. The rebate house received my rebate OVER 2 months ago according to rebate's status site; yet it still says it's processing. The rebate hasn't even finished processing; so what another 2 months to write the check? How long does it take to process/verify since they already looked at it and entered all the information to the online tracking system? Try taking over 8 weeks to determine if you should pay one of your bills/obligations and see what happens to you. OCZ, why don't you just lower the prices, drop the rebates - you'll sell a ton more without all the bad taste in your customer's mouths? Plus you wouldn't have to pay a fee to the rebate house. Must be the Harvard MBA's at OCZ, upset 80% of your customers that do use the rebate process so you can earn a few extra $$ on the other 20% that don't file a rebate. Way to plan for the long term success of the company!

5 out of 5 eggsThank You OCZ

Pros: I wanted to update my review and thank OCZ for their action in resolving rebate issues. Product is great as always as is support. I finally recieved rebates after OCZ's assistance and calling the rebate company. (04/08/2009 From Dec & Jan)
all 12GB working fine.

Cons: None anymore, my faith is restored.

5 out of 5 eggsC'mon guys

Pros: Performs similar to all other OCZ Platinum memory, not the greatest overclocker, but runs without a hitch. If you want massive heatspreaders, there are lots of other models out there. Incredible price!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For all of you that don't understand, high performance memory speeds have to be set in the BIOS. DDR3 is usually set to run at a default DDR3-1066 so that all motherboards will run it without failing to post. This has been the norm for a few years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: 7-7-7 timing. Stays reasonably cool. Works at specified timings right away in my EVGA X58.

Cons: May not be the best overclocking RAM, but I cannot get my QPI above 200 with my i7 920 so does not matter.

Other Thoughts: I have 12 gigs of this RAM and it works perfectly. I have used OCZ for my last 3 builds and not regretted it at all. Once you lock in this RAM it works perfectly. I really like that it is fast and not tall. I really don't see the point of big heat sinks as most of the time people do not overclock their ram that much so there is not enough heat. I would recommend this RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ Platinum 6 GB

Pros: Arrived quickly (thanks, Newegg!) and was packaged great. Each stick had a quality feel to it. Snapped right in, no problems. All three sticks are alive and kicking and seem as if they will continue to do so for quite some time.

Cons: Great product, OCZ!

Other Thoughts: No sign of any mail-in rebate information. I've not gotten it via e-mail nor was it packaged in the box. Maybe it comes in the mail, later? I hope so, at least.

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ Plantinum

Pros: Great price when taking into account rebate. Surprisingly all the modules run at 1.5 volts (not the 1.6 stated in the manufacturer specs) at 7,7,7 without any tweaking and in fact was recognized by my GB motherboard right off the bat! Runs this way without issue!

Cons: Lacks large heat disipators. But they seem to run cool with what they have!

3 out of 5 eggsProduct Good, Rebates Stink.. 2nd Time

Pros: I have been using OCZ Products for a several years with great results except for one pair of nvidia SLI's I had to swap out. Works as designed, reliable and overall competetive on price. Their rebates only happen half the time at best, do not buy inder the premis they will honor the rebate.

Cons: I will no longer use OCS in my builds due due their lack of follow through with rebates. I have had to fight for them in the past and it is deja vu all over again. DO NOT BUY UNDER THE PREMISE THEY WILL FULLFILL THEIR REBATE OBLIGATIONS. iI JSUT MAILED ANOTHER ONE TODAY FOR MY SECOND 6GB SET AND EXPECT TO BE BURNED AGAIN... SHAME ON OCZ, YOU JUST LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER.

Other Thoughts: I7 920, ASUS EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5, MSI X58 Eclipse SLI LGA 1366, 12gb OCZ Platinum (6 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Memory, NZXT TEMPEST, Vigor Monsoon III, 2TB Raid 0, 640GB Raid 0, ASUS Blu-ray DVD, LG Dal layer DVD,... Vista 64.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we understand you frustration and are sorry about the rebate issues. We use a rebate house and they can make mistakes. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in the rebate section. Mention that you were sent by the OCZ rep at Newegg. We will contact the rebate house and straighten this out for you. We absolutely will see that all qualified rebates are paid.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for mild OC's

Pros: Very cheap (especially with MIR). Good timings, low voltage, good speeds. Will run stock 1333mhz speeds at 7-7-7-20 (and will correctly default to these speeds when set to "auto"). I managed to get these sticks running 1880mhz at 8-8-8-22 with a little know how. Not too shabby at all considering the price. I'm very happy.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: I bought these to run stock speeds on my i7 rig. I ended up doing some mild overclocking with them and was pleasantly suprised.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Stable since purchase.
Fast memory.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This is an update of my prior review regarding the rebate. I finally received my rebate check. I am guessing they sent me two rejection cards and one check because the memory comes as 3 pieces. Regarding the memory, I don't overclock so don't know how far you can push it, but it works at specs.
