3 out of 5 eggsSame Old *PROBLEM*

Pros: If you have a powered E-SATA port on you notebook it is great because it frees you up all your USB ports.

Cons: It is LARGE for a flash device so you have to carefully place your necessary USB plug ins {such as Logitech Air Mouse receiver} accordingly. Which is kind of a pain because I have an OCZ Rally2 16 GB USB Flash that I have not yet found anything to compare with.

I originally bought the OCZ Slate 32 GB Express Card drive and the performance was so slow and lacking I no longer have it.

Other Thoughts: It is recognized as a drive not a flash so I don't like it so much because in the event that I reinstall Windows this drive keeps the "HIDDEN" Windows Recycle Bin file on it from the previous time in Windows each time it is reinstalled. I would not buy again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, the main purpose of this drive is interface through an ESATA port. To do so must be recognized as a drive and not removable media. Formatting the drive will remove any hidden OS files. If you would like any assistance, please visit our support forums at the link below.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic drive

Pros: Incredibly quick, so much more so than USB. I run a lightweight OS on it (a linux distro) without any hassles (just make sure you can boot from eSata before trying it. If it's not plugged in though, the system jumps to the second boot device. Easier than GRUB!)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: What many other comments here haven't realised is that eSata ports don't supply any power, unlike USB. You have to give power to ANY drive you plug into an eSata port, the USB cable is actually the easiest solution there is (when you have a notebook it's easier than hunting for a power socket)

4 out of 5 eggseSata thumb drives . . .

Pros: well they are eSATA and usb 2.0

Cons: Couldnt get them (i bought 2) to work on my only eSATA rig. its probably the mobo causing the issue.

Other Thoughts: they do work fine with usb 2.0

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff.

Pros: Nice and fast over eSATA, pretty quick over USB. Flawless behavior so far.

Cons: My eSATA port, like those of the other reviewers so far, did not provide power. The included USB cable worked just fine to provide power. (Don't worry, the USB connection is only used for power if eSATA is connected). There's nowhere to place the cap for the eSATA connector, so I've already lost mine.

Other Thoughts: It's unfortunate that this is off to a pair of lackluster reviews - It's a very, very nice USB stick.

4 out of 5 eggsCorrection

Pros: correction for my previouse review

you do not need to use an external power source.
the drive has 3 dif colored leds inside

green = usb
blue = power
red = esata

as long as you have the esata plugged in before the usb you will use the esata for the data transfer rather then usb

Cons: who wants to carry a usb cable with them in order to use the drive (at least the provided cable isnt too long (about a ft and a half)

2 out of 5 eggsAmazing data transfer but

Pros: transfered a 2.4 gig file in under a min (aslo affected by my core i7 and dominator ram) with an external power source

Cons: the box said no external power source required. my pc didnt detect the drive without the external power source. the usb cable was used to power the drive. not sure if the computer will prioritize the esata before usb. unless i get a lemon you'll need a usb power adapter much like what is used for ipod if usb will be used for the data transfer rather then the esata

Other Thoughts: am going to contact ocz to see whats going on

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, this drive does not require any further power than delivered by your standard USB port. Please visit our support forums at the link below for clarification of the problem.
Thank you
