1 out of 5 eggsBad Experience

Pros: Fast.

Cons: Had to RMA my first kit because 1 stick died after about a week at 1.65v. Newegg quickly replaced it. Not too long (less than a week) my replacement kit had a dead stick. It was outside of Newegg's 30-day policy, so I had to go through OCZ. As I was on a deadline, I held on to the 2 working sticks as long as possible. I overnighted the set to OCZ and waited a few days. Yesterday, I called OCZ's RMA department and they informed me that they don't have any in stock and that they don't know when they are going to have more. They offered my a set of Blades rated for 1866 with 9-9-9-24 timings. Oh, and a 4gb thumbdrive. Does that seem like a fair exchange? A $15 dollar thumb drive and a set of memory that retails for $400? I paid $480. Since I declined, they are going to refund me, which is good of them, though.

Other Thoughts: Core i7 965
Rampage 2 Extreme
4870x2
Phase and liquid cooled.

Im steering clear of OCZ from here on out. G-Skill Perfect Storm, here I come.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This memory is great. I recently did a review of this memory on the website I work for, and it was some of the best memory I've seen to date. Had it running stable with great timings, and achieved a overclock of 2146 MHz @ 9-9-9-24 timings. I don't get why there are some people on here who give this a bad review.

Cons: ~price
~no X.M.P. Profiles

Other Thoughts: Test setup was:

Mobo: EVGA Classified "Limited Edition"
CPU: Core i7 920 (D0 stepping)
PSU: SilverStone ZM1200M
Graphics: Sapphire 4850X2 2GB
Cooling: Thermaltake V1 AX

3 out of 5 eggsAmazing Memory if you can get it to work

Pros: What a bargain. Speed, Performance, Price can't be beat.

Cons: Can't ever get the memory to work out of the box. I had 2 striker extreme boards both with reaper memory from OCZ. After months of fiddling with every timing and rebooting literally thousands of times it finally worked. Now I have punished my self again only this time with a Rampage II Eztreme and blades. It looks like I will be fiddling with every timing again for months before I can get it to work.

Other Thoughts: Why doesn't OCZ sticky KNOWN stable bios settings with their respective boards is beyond me. I have to post on their forums. Then after a few hours I get a response to adjust a timing. Usually something I have already tried. Then I post again and have to wait another few hours to be given another timing to adjust. Please OCZ just sticky the bios settings under their respective forums. Also include the OC bios too. You know the OC levels people who buy this stuff like to get their air and watercooled comps too. Guess that won't happen.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we appreciate your comments. They will passed along to our forum staff.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: POSTed and booted fine at DDR3-2000 with i7 920 and Gigabyte EX58-UD4P. Actually overclocked to DDR3-2044 9-8-8 @ 1.66v. Had to see.

Cons: Zero problems.

Other Thoughts: Not all motherboards are capable of running DDR3-2000 on an i7 920 without flashing to the latest BIOS, this motherboard included.

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not run as specified.

Pros: Can hit 2000Mhz if vDIMM set to 1.68 and QPIvtt set to 1.38.

Cons: Will not boot to windows past 2000MHz period--Under any setting or voltage. I even tried 2002 MHz and relaxing the timings to 9-9-9-30 and blue screens of death abound. Is not stable at 2000MHz unless vDIMM@1.70 and QPIvtt@1.40. Tried this with four different i7 920's (two of which are D0 stepping) and two different x58 boards.

Other Thoughts: RMA in the works. We'll see if set two fairs any better.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you are having difficulties hitting rated speeds. We will be happy to help you with settings on our support forums at the link below. Please visit us and post for assistance.

Pros: runs at 1333 speeds ..

Cons: At 1600 it boots up showing only 4g installed ,at 1866 it

this happened with two kit's, first kit, one of the sticks went south, Rma . second kit , degraded, nothing but a dog!! (read above)

Other Thoughts: First, been building machines since the 286 days and this has to be one of the worst ram i ever bought..OCZ, get your act together !! Anyway, bought other brand and no problems.
