5 out of 5 eggsNot bad. Great value,

Pros: I got this ram at a great price compared to other 2000MHz RAM modules out there. I was able to get the speeds advertised with the advertised timings.

Cons: I did have a hard time with this ram at first. The timings and voltages I had to manually set, but works well with a little bit of patience.
THIS RAM WILL NOT COROPERATE EASILY WITH STOCK CPU SPEEDS.
Knowledge on how to overclock at a more advanced level is necessary

Other Thoughts: At stock speeds or even low overclocks, the ram cannot operate at full speeds on x58 board, the uncore frequency of the CPU is designed to run atleast twice that of the ram speed. If someone has their ram clocked at 2000MHz, their uncore frequency is going to be atleast twice that. Not only is it way off a stock speed of a CPU, it requires a bump in voltages to operate correctly.

This ram (and any ram with a maximum frequency of 1866 and beyond) is designed for higher overclocks, If your a moderate overclocker, or not sure what you are doing, you would be better off with a ram that is lower in frequency.

There is a trick to using higher frequency RAM modules.

I am operating at 1800MHz on this RAM with timings of 8-8-8-24 and a i7 950 overclocked above 4.1GHz and stable.

2 out of 5 eggsFollow Up

Pros: This is a followup on my earlier post. I am able to get higher than 1066. I have good equipment to the contrary of what the poster below posted. I found out that OCZ and my board just dont play fair.

Cons: Even though I can get higher levels the ram still gives me issues. I have gone through them several times. I can use 3 sticks out of 6. The mother board does not really do well with more in it of this brand.

I am also seeing other issue now due to the memory. Does not always want to boot up the first power up. I was getting memory dumps and the blue screen. I have the 3 best sticks of the batch in right now.

I am seeing others having issues with OCZ and this board. The ram most likely would work better with a different board.

Other Thoughts: The price is cheap. Do the research. When I got my asus board they did not have a list of compatible memory out yet. I took a shot.

Currently researching different ram to see what would be a better solution. If you want to get 12 gigs I am reading that 3x4 is better for the Asus Rampage III. It does not play well with 6 sticks in it.

Good luck.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you are having issues. This kit is sold as a 6gb kit, and is rated to run in a 6gb configuration. Running 2 kits for a total of 12gb doubles the load on your memory controller. Filling all ram slots on some boards can cause problems as well. We will be happy to assist you with settings on our support forums at the link below. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I haven't had any trouble with them, Yes they are suppose to be 10,10,10,30 But i'm using 58x Sabortooth Asus, 950 I7 Cpu, and 6 gigs of these and 1000w PSU.. I can over my system to 4.0 and my turbo boost cpu speed 4.35, memory speed 1392 Mhz and my Uncore Speed 2128 MHz, intel Quick Path Interconnect Speed 6.25 GT/s

Cons: None really Just wish I had more money to buy another set of these sweet memory..

Other Thoughts: So when you read everyone else saying that they can't get pass 1064 on this thing WRONG U can it just takes the right equitment to do it, if you want something to do what you want. Don't settle for cheap equitment..

1 out of 5 eggsThese are "value" sticks - low quality

Pros: The computer booted on the first try.

Cons: The RAM generates read errors on all of the sticks. The timings have not matched what the vendor posted here and manually setting them based on OCZ reccomendations yielded even more crashes. These sticks have proven to be a bad investment of time and money.

Other Thoughts: These are not high-end gaming sticks. They represent OCZ value line of RAM. The large number of reviews that indicate write problems is likely indicative of the lower quality these represent.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as advertised

Pros: Memory on banks 2 and 4 work fine even when properly clocked.

Cons: Will not recognize memory in slot 0 on Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard. It will work temporarily underclocked but that is no excuse.

Other Thoughts: Will not buy again.

2 out of 5 eggsOk Product.

Pros: Nice low profile. I have 12 gigs of this ram. It fit nicely under large heat sink. I put this on, final board, a ASUS Rampage III Formula LGA 1366. Very nice board worth the extra.

First EVGA board dead. Done with them. To bad.

Cons: So far not able to go above 1066. Tried changing voltage on board. I got it higher but it saw less ram. 4 gigs. So I clocked it back down. This build was a hard one. I have done several in my lifetime. First mother board was a EVGA F-T-W3. It was bad. I got same brand of GPU in the 460's SLI. Had to get a new TV/monitor. They were to good for my 60hz LCD. LOL.

I did have some issues with this build and by the time I got done with it the rebate expired. With returning bad parts and installing new ones. I am still unsure about the ram. I had a memory dump early on. I did a ram check and they tested ok. It has been working ok.

I got stiffed on the rebate. I figured it might happen but the reason was a joke. I got the rebates out 2 days after the 21 days. I figured they might gig me on that; however, since I have spent so much money with OCZ I thought I might get lucky. Of all things they denied me for my printed new egg invoice. Reason no invoice included.

Other Thoughts: All I have to say is whatever on the rebate. I am thinking about being done with OCZ. Problems with running higher memory and the rebate. I could have returned the memory and got different memory with in 30 days of the egg; however, you best have the rebate in by 21 days. Math does not add up. Of course you need to have the UPC to return the ram.

I may tinker with the ram again I am not sure. Thought about getting rid of it and trying a different brand. Should have kept the UPC's.

If you are looking at high end ram I like the reapers. This one seems to be blahhhh. The bad part of the reapers is they sit high. My heatsink and 2 120's would have not fit.

I am going to give this ram 2 eggs. IF I did it again I would have avoided. I did lots of research and was going a different route. The sale and rebate pulled me into this one. Pay a little more for the better ram that has less dings.

2 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with GIGABYTE X58A-UD3R mb

Pros: Runs perfectly if the system can boot-up.

Cons: For every cold start the system is not going to boot or get crash (blue screen) when starting windows.
Checked the BBS from gigabyte, this is because the memory is not well compatible with the mb.
Power down then turn on the PC again it's going work without a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: Comes with free 4gb flash drive

Works perfect have not tryed overlocking don't need to.

One other good thing is the ram plates so they don't get hot.

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: Works perfect thats if you have it set up right first i put it in slots 1 2 and 3 but 2 out of 3 worked but found out you have to add them in slots 2, 4 and 6 for it to work the way it should.

4 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: I bought two of these sets when I build my new computer last november. It has been working very well, good capacity, I have only used the whole 12 gb between the two kits a few times.

Cons: I do get a lot of memory errors. I think one of my sticks is partially broken in some way, but can't figure it out and can't afford to replace or trash it.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest adding a RAM fan, to keep it cool. These sticks get hot. Within tolerances, but if you want to OC or really beat the hell out of a huge project without stopping, especially if you have them packed close together, you are going to want some cooling.
