Disappointing
- Pros: Works fine after manually setting 5-5-5-18, tRFC to 60.
Everything else set to automatic on my Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R.
- Cons: Worst experience with memory ever. No room whatsoever for overclocking, I can't overclock my q6600 over the 1150 fsb w/o getting errors with linpack, even keeping the mem at 1150 itself. Doesn't have the extended settings on the chip, unlike other hipo mem I've used, by patriot, g.Skill and, strangely enough, OCZ. My motherboard can use those settings. Patriot Viper 1200 5-5-5-12 by far the best I've used, I was able to get my q6600 up to 3.3 with it. Alas, I ruined them, and they are no longer available. The G.Skill 1200 that are probably almost as good as the Viper cost more than twice as much as these OCZ as did the Vipers, so it's unfair to expect the OCZ to be as good, and they aren't.
- Other Thoughts: Get some good 5-5-5-15 1066 memory, and save $20.
My mistake
- Pros: Works at rated speed. I posted a question in the OCZ forums & had an OCZ tech respond with some suggestions just a few hours later.
- Cons: Fussy about settings with a Gigabyte board.
- Other Thoughts: I had the previous 1-star review. After strange program lock ups, I reinstalled Windows & now I am able to underclock my cpu & get rated memory speeds, even was able to hit 1200mhz with no errors but no higher. I can use Gigabyte's Easytune util to overclock & have my E8400 hit 4.05ghz but the util underclocks the ram to 900mhz. Everything is stable at this speed so I'm ok with that but so far I am unable to tweak the settings to get the ram working at a higher speed along with the cpu overclock. Board is a Gigabyte ep45c-ud3r.

Didn't work
- Pros: None
- Cons: Memory errors at rated speed, had to underclock to 800 to get them stable. Will RMA them & hopefully new pair will work correctly.
