5 out of 5 eggsstill kickin'

Pros: I bought 2 of these at the same time on a shell shocker deal, and am very happy with them. I have used them for 4-5 months now with no issues at all yet! I have read tons of reviews that say they die after a month, or some other thing. and all I can say is "hey no tech is perfect! stuff happens ! get over it!" these have a really good waranty on them so RMA them if they die and make sure to back up(like we all should any way!)!

Cons: they shoud have com with 3.5' mount. they don't bring me breakfast inbed(for the money they should have some sort of perks!!;)

Other Thoughts: go to the ocz forums and look at the set up pages for these they make all the diff. in the world!! really! they are a great help in making the most of them. don't defrag tham just let GC do it job

3 out of 5 eggsTheres better

Pros: Well its an SSD so its a step up from a hard drive. Everything loads really fast, windows boots super fast. Once you get an SSD you'll never wana put an os on a hdd anymore.

Cons: It died on me after 6-7 months of usage. The 4k random write times are slower compared to the newer ssds released like vertex 2, crucial, or intel ssds. RMAd with OCZ who has very nice customer service which is why i like sticking with them. I shipped the ssd in a few days ago waiting for a reply.

Other Thoughts: Its a cheap ssd none the less with 60Gbs of storage. Thats +20 more than the others charging around 100. By the way if you follow all the instructions the rebate will come in like 2-3 months, and i believe it comes on a prepaid visa. I would also recommend buying a smaller ssd as a boot drive to keep the startup time fast and reduce wear and tear on it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are very sorry for the problem. Our support staff will see that your RMA is taken care of as quickly as possible.
Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsDied on me

Pros: it worked nicely before it died.

Cons: I't died on me about a month after being used. I had an identical SSD running on raid 0 and the first time I left my computer running for 6 hours straight the SSD died. I am currently trying to get it RMA'd but OCZ has been very slow about it

Other Thoughts: I'ts a pain to get it working properly on a Raid0 array using amd motherboards.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the problem, and we will see that you get your replacement drive as soon as possible.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsDAM FAST!

Pros: Windows loads in under 30 seconds.
Makes EVERYTHING more snappy.

Cons: if you want to have fast as a con then you're crazy :D

Other Thoughts: don't get a 30gb SSD.
DO NOT DEFRAG AN SSD!
2 of these would scream!

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: It speeds up my system exponentially. Computer boots in 20 seconds. Does a full scan in under 5 minutes. Read speeds are incredible. It's like instant data!

Cons: Computer boots so fast that it's a pain to try to get into BIOS. Haha.

Other Thoughts: It it mind blowingly fast. Especially if you have never used an ssd.

2 out of 5 eggsOCZ scammers.

Pros: Like most other SSD the agility blasted away HDDs. No matter if compared to the latest velociraptors, or if compared with RAID, SSD will win. Even when transfer speeds are similar (as in the case of RAID 0 setups) the SSD will actually feel much quicker since the nearly instant access time.

Cons: OCZ won't honor the rebates. I bought 4 of these drives, my brother 2. I've bought 2 sets of ram, 1 PSU and 1 USB drive in the past year. In total between me and my brother we have 6 rebates... none of which we've seen. OCZ actually uses the exact same drives as other brands (you'd have to google it because I cannot remember) if given the chance buy a different brand to avoid being scammed your rebate money.. unless even without the rebate OCZ comes up to be cheaper (unlikely.) The point being, don't buy from them because it seems a good deal after MIR... the MIR is a complete SCAM!

Other Thoughts: One of the drives died after 2 months... stopped being detected. I would not hold it against OCZ because after so many that we've bought having a bad one is not the end of the world. RMA went smoothly although it took 2 whole weeks.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, OCZ uses a 3rd part rebate house for all rebate processing, and we are sorry that they have dropped the ball. We will be happy to contact the rebate house about your claims and will see that all valid rebates are paid. Please email rebates@ocztechnology.com and include your full name, address, product, and date and place of purchase.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsthis is it, this is the review

Pros: These and the Intel X25s are really the price:performance champs at the moment. Next-gen SSDs really don't bring much more tangible performance to the table unless you really need the faster writes for some specific purpose. The difference between a mechanical drive and any SSD is so astronomical that the real-life performance difference between this and a newer sandforce SSD is trivial in comparison.

I opted for a pair of these in RAID0 over Intel because of the natively supported garbage collection, which alleviates any concerns about the long-term effects of TRIM not working through the RAID array. Also, if you're going to RAID a pair of SSDs on a non-intel onboard controller (AMD or nvidia) your RAID controller's downstream will be saturated with either drive so you may as well capitalize on the extra write speeds offered by OCZ.

Cons: I got these when they were $119 AR as a shell shocker, which is a good deal today, but I will regret it in 6 months or so when new drives (particularly Intel G3) push the prices down.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading the system drive to an SSD is the greatest single upgrade you're going to find in terms of end-user performance in the vast majority of real-life desktop computing/gaming situations, not to mention the power-saving benefits to a mobile computer. It's like the first time you went from dialup to broadband; it may not have seemed THAT important yesterday but you're sure as hell not going back willingly once you've had it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got this while they were on sale for 120 each. Definitely worthy of that price. The specs are mostly accurate according to tests I did. Of course, remember speed will drop on transfers of large quantities of files opposed to transfers of large files

Cons: No mounting brackets. There wasnt much to the box... thankfully there were other things in my box so UPS couldnt ruin it so easily.

Size sucks, but thats expected. Enough room for Mass effect, windows 7, and WoW though.

Other Thoughts: Dont bother putting this on an XP machine. The performance gains wont be noticeable.

Also, take into account the speed of the machine you are using it on is a huge factor. If your RAM or CPU cant keep up with disk queue, then it is no longer the bottleneck, and you wont get the full effect of the SSD. I noticed Core2duo 2.13ghz with 667FSB was easily overloaded when loading anything complex. Youll want at least a C2Quad 800mhzFSB

5 out of 5 eggsSuperfly

Pros: 222.7MB/s Average Random Read when I tested it.
Silly fast. Would be hell on wheels in a raid configuration.
Supports TRIM, but you can get the Idilinx wiper program if you run xp.

No heat, so SSDs are great in hot, tiny builds.

Cons: You'll be angry with all your mechanical drives henceforth. You won't be able to hide your disgust.

Does take about 3 minutes to tweak Windows 7 (Not really a con)

Win XP needs to have the drive aligned before installation (with a Vista or Win7 rescue disk). As far as I know all SSD do, except for Intel drives.

If you could buy 2 for $200...

Other Thoughts: Fast, especially if you have AHCI support (as others have stated). Still fast if you don't. I was concerned with the reliability and firmware of this drive initially, but decided to get it anyway. Its only my second SSD, so I wasn't sure if I should stray away from the excellent first drive I bought (an Intel). Really, I couldn't be happier. I put the fast (but MUCH slower than the OCZ) Intel drive in my laptop which is unable to take advantage of the Agility's wicked speed. I put this in my new desktop build with a Phenom II 550 BE and an M4A785TD-M EVO.

4 out of 5 eggsI Got My Rebate

Pros: I did a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit three months ago. My computer feels very quick; applications open instantly. Boot time is very fast (less than 20 seconds).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I waited to receive my rebate before I wrote a review. After 3 months I did get the rebate. Minus one egg for the long rebate wait!
