1 out of 5 eggsBeautiful piece of key-rap.

Pros: Light.
Beautiful.

Cons: Not functioning for more than 30 minutes max.

Other Thoughts: First was disconnecting every 6 minutes. RMA, replaced. The new one worked for a while (a couple of weeks) then it started the same random disconnects. Same happens on any computer I tried, mac or pc.
Too light to be a doorstopper.

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry for the difficulties. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in the Flash/SSD section. We will be happy to assist you with troubleshooting and settings to get you running properly. We care about our customers and are here to help. Thank you

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Exceptionally fast with no issues until it crashed. Really did like the little drive but apparently OCZ no longer likes it or thinks very highly of it.

Cons: Bought Nov 11, 2011 and crashed almost 3 months to the day. Requested RMA only to be told this unit was no longer in production but they would exchange this $259 drive for a $155 Vertex 2 internal! Hard to believe how generous OCZ can be!!! Guess I'll just eat this one but at least I have the knowledge about OCZ Customer support or should I say lack of customer support. Really took a screwing on this one even if I swap it for the Vertex2 which I do not need as I have (not for long) 3 internal Vertex 3 drives. Gonna dump them before I have any issues with them. Oh well, back to the drawing board - a little poorer but far more educated!

Manufacturer Response:

We aplogize for the difficulties. It is our policy to replace a discontinued product with an equivalent product. Over time price drops may occur that can make comparing the initial cost difficult. If you are unhappy with our offer please contact us so we can discuss a possible alternative. Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsYou've gpt to be kidding!

Pros: Fast

Cons: It's a little quirky at times random disconnects.

Other Thoughts: Emperor Crusher your statements couldn't be more erroneous. Did you dream your explanation and decide to post it? Good grief.... /em is speechless

George has it right, "When a hard drive is advertised as 128GB, that is 128,000,000,000 bytes. The amount you see in Windows (or other operating systems) is 128,000,000,000 / 2^30, which is about 119.2GB."

5 out of 5 eggsMissing Gigabytes found

Pros: No problems.

Cons: No problems.

Other Thoughts: The drive advertises 128G of space but formats to much less. Please understand how SSD drives work. They reserve a chunk of space, so when the memory on the drive begins to fail after years of use (this happens to all SSD and flash drives) there is space available to use to keep holding your data. Invisibly to you, the firmware on the drive simply blocks off the failed section of drive memory and begins to use a new section of drive memory that had been held in reserve for this purpose. In this way, the drive lasts much longer.

My guess is that you got the entire 128G you purchased, but about 6G is reserved for the expected fail events. Admittedly, it would have been nicer to have purchased a 122G drive and have gotten the entire 122G (119G after formatting is OK and expected of all drives).

My original OCZ Vertex drive was sold as a 30G drive, but had 2G in reserve. They didn't sell it as a 32G drive. I guess they have changed their marketing practice.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this SSD

Pros: none

Cons: The drive failed within 1 week. I had all my confidential data from my computer on this drive and therefore cannot return it. I cannot remove the data and newegg or OCZ refuses to provide me with a new drive unless I return the broken one. So I have just wasted $265.

Pros: Lightweight, sleek design.

Cons: Disconnects at random, during or in between activity. Latest disconnect was during formatting.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast drive, slim and portable.

Cons: The connector for thin-USB 3.0 is fragile, but this is the case on most external drives that use this connector.

2 out of 5 eggsBe careful of the USB port.

Pros: Fast, portable, light.

Cons: USB connector got pried off the circuit board by a stray key, OCZs response: won't do repairs, not eligible for return. So, now it's just light, portable brick.

5 out of 5 eggs119GB is correct

Pros: To the previous poster: please don't criticize others' math skills when in fact you have none yourself. When a hard drive is advertised as 128GB, that is 128,000,000,000 bytes. The amount you see in Windows (or other operating systems) is 128,000,000,000 / 2^30, which is about 119.2GB.

Cons: Drive gets a little warm under use.

3 out of 5 eggsResponse to pbg-nubcakes

Pros: Dont own the product, but I would be asking the same question.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: Have you actually done the math since you were the one that provided the feedback. 128GB * 1000 = 128000. 128000 / 1024 mibibytes per gibibyte still comes out to 125 GB NOT 119.
I also have a difficult time believeing that on 125 GB that the FAT or NTFS tables would be THAT (6GB) large unless you are using a really small block size. Could be that they market the total memory system and reserve some back for the wear leveling, but on their newest drives they market lets say 240 versus 256 for this reason, so....................
