1 out of 5 eggsStay away!

Pros: It worked on my old EVGA 790i FTW fine.

Cons: When I upgraded to an Asus Maximus VI Gene with an Intel i5, system will not boot, even with memOK! Even on my EVGA system, it wouldn't clock over about 1500Mhz.

Other Thoughts: I'm no expert at overclocking, and maybe I was expecting too much from my older system, expecting easy overclocks. Not booting on a new system, now that's just ridiculous.

5 out of 5 eggsA word to buyers

Pros: I wrote a review earlier on this memory and thought it deserved another one since I just bought another set. For those writing bad reviews claiming they can't get the memory to run at 2000MHz; it's not the memory it's your setup.

With my 965BE I could not get this to run past 1940MHz stable. The reason for this is the IMC on the processor (integrated memory controller).

I upgraded to a 1090T BE and the memory easily goes to 2000MHz and beyond due to the newer chips IMC being better. A quality motherboard is also key because you are going to want something that can overclock the Northbridge without issue as well.

I'm running this on a ASUS Crosshair IV motherboard and as stated above I purchased another 4GB kit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you have a lower grade motherboard and CPU then you might want to consider buying something rated for a lower speed.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the best bang for buck

Pros: Runs faster than my last RAM (PC3200)

Cons: not what I paid for

Other Thoughts: ran at 1066 out of the box. Didn't even notice until I went into the BIOS and found that I couldn't even get it to run above 1800 stable after each boot. Got it to around 1600-1700 and gave up.

Setup
My Setup:
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban OCed to 3.0
Asus M4A87TD Evo
Apevia 750w
EVGA GTS 250 OCed
Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

1 out of 5 eggsWill not run at stated speeds

Pros: Good price and OCZ is sending me a higher quality ram to fix the problem.

Cons: Like a lot of people have said it wont run at 2000mhz no matter what I do. I spent weeks on their forum going back and forth with settings with the end result being that the product could not live up to its promised speeds. So I had to mail back the Ram at my cost and am waiting for them to send me back slightly better Ram. This has left me without my desktop for over a week and out an extra $10.00. Not a lot of money but I feel since it's their mistake they should have paid for the shipping cost they did not agree however.

Other Thoughts: I have been a loyal OCZ customer for many years and have built many systems for my self and others using their products. This may be last call for them in my book.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are very sorry for the problem. If we can be of any further assistance, please visit the link below and create a support ticket to get in touch with our staff. Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsNot DDR3 "2000"

Pros: -Cheap

Cons: -Defaults on my new system at 1066. Not the end of the world, but you can see how it might be frustrating when you paid for 2000
-I can overclock to a little under 1700, but 2000 is simply false advertisement.

Other Thoughts: System doesn't want to hold an overclock, and i'm pretty sure the problem is the RAM. Stable when it runs, but it takes 3-4 restarts before it works properly.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, this memory defaults to a lower speed to insure compatibility with all systems. We will be happy to assist you with settings to get you running at rated speeds. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in the mmeory section. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWow 2000!

Pros: Wow! 2000 is so much faster than my old RAM, i love it. I was easily able to get it to OC at 2000 on my Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard. I have a dedicated fan for it, so i dont know if they get hot or not.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Great pair of RAM

2 out of 5 eggsWork, can't get 2000 stable

Pros: Works @ 1600mhz fine, just set the clock and voltage.

Cons: I paid for 2000. Tired tweaking it, and I couldn't get it up to 2000.

I tried talking to OCZ Tech fourms. Was told by staff, you won't get 2000 with your set-up, and didn't get much help.

I RMA'd the item.

Other Thoughts: My Setup:
Asus M4A87TD Evo
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz OC @ 3.8Ghz
PSU: Rosewill 750w
Graphics: Palit NE5X460SF1102 GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Sonic 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
OS: Win 7 64-bit

Note: to get to 2000, you must overclock and know what your doing.

Gave 2 eggs because it works.... lost 3 eggs for customer support

3 out of 5 eggsrebate?

5 out of 5 eggsworth it

Pros: For memory rated that's rated to take on 2000Mhz worth of bandwidth this stuff is pretty good and reasonably priced. Got it running @ 1920Mhz 9-9-9-24 currently on a ASUS Crosshair IV and AMD Phenom II X4 965BE.

Cons: None. For DDR3 2000Mhz at a reasonable price, this stuff is worth it.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it will reach 2000Mhz with more tweaking but the rest of system is OC'd and makes it a bit trickier to do. If you're going to purchase this memory just mind that if you have a cheap motherboard and CPU then it might never hit 2000Mhz stable or even get close. However, better timings will perform better than top speed, keep that in mind.

3 out of 5 eggsTrying to be Nice about it

Pros: Low profile

Pretty gold colored shroud well glued to the Dimm

Memtest posted no errors after full run

Cons: In credibly poor customer service, there is no telephone support, my system was crashing the Auto timing was whacked EVGA gave me some new setting and then pointed me to OCZ to check if the settings were correct.

EVGA second tier support told me that the i5 memory controler was on chip and 1333 MHz it its top rated speed.

OCZ keeps giving me the latencies for an i7 which are diffrent then that for an i5.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I am use to having better service, maybe it is worth having an expert that speaks American English answer the phone. Maybe wondering if this RAM will one day go bad even as the their customer service has gone bad is unsettling .
My PC is very important to me, it is more than just a PC , more like a personified best friend. Having filled all my sockets with RAM from a company that does not answer the phone just makes me feel like I have made a mistake some how.
OCZ does not give any real support, you have to send an email, then you have to wait 24 to 72 hours, for a reply. When they do reply the information is not tailored to your individualized issue, or needs. Your reply then takes another day and they do not change there original reply. I have to wonder if they even read which BIOs they are working with or did they read my systems specks. My question is what are the timings for an i5, not for an i7, does that sound to be a hard question?
