HSDL is capable of running up to 20Gbps of data bandwidth per channel, far surpassing the speed of existing storage interfaces. OCZ’s Cutting Edge HSDL interface is the answer to the SATA bottleneck and the driving force behind the IBIS SSD. For more details, visit OCZ HSDL FAQ: http://www.ocztechnology.com/hsdl.
  • newegg Performance By adopting four SandForce SF-1222 controllers and onboard RAID 0 for performance optimization, the OCZ IBIS SSD (100GB-160GB) delivers unprecedented performance: up to 740MB/s Read, up to 690MB/s Write, up to 550MB/s Sustained Write and 100,000 IOPS for 4KB Random Write. 5 out of 5 eggsperfect

Pros: fast boot and fast file management

Cons: price would love to afford the 1 TB of this

Other Thoughts: I think this should be the standard of data connection for HDs soon (plz copy drivers to your installation cd and point to it all will go good yet cant say id this will work on older MBs)

3 out of 5 eggsFussy...but ti works

Pros: Super fast benchmarks.

Cons: 1) Expensive.
2) Fussy to install. Installed for use as a boot drive, doesn't like many motherboards, BIOSes, certain PCIe slots on motherboards.
3) In 'normal' PC work, you won't notice any difference between this and any other fast SSD. Apparently it only shows it true capability under a heavy workload.

Other Thoughts: Got this working on the 4th PC I tried it on... and even on that it was a couple weeks of trial and error to figure out how to keep it running ... OCZ needs to be telling people about what won't/will work.....or maybe they don't even know.

Finally, blind luck, the answer (in the 1 of 4 PCs it would even boot from) was there can be no other PCIe card installed NEXT TO this card. I had a 3 PCIe slot MB, so I was able to accomodate it...I almost RMAed it, it was truly a pain.
