Building off the award-winning RevoDrive, the OCZ RevoDrive X2 takes performance to new heights while doubling the storage capacity for the ultimate PC experience. With a proprietary four-way RAID 0 design, the RevoDrive X2 enhances data access and maximizes bandwidth with superior data rates up to 740MB/s and up to 120,000 IOPS, nearly triple the throughput of other consumer SSDs. Unlike competing PCIe solutions, the RevoDrive X2 is bootable ensuring quicker boot-ups in addition to snappier application loading and file management. The RevoDrive X2 can accommodate a wide range of computing environments such as video-editing and other multi-media creation and management, all while providing the superior durability and reliability of SSDs.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSDs translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg Incredibly Fast Performance The RevoDrive X2 family gets its edge by employing a PCIe x4 interface (1GB/s bandwidth as opposed to 3Gb/s of SATA II) and four SandForce-1200 controllers in RAID 0 design to maximize data access and bandwidth. Therefore the RevoDrive X2 SSDs (100GB-160GB) feature up to 740 MB/s read & 690 MB/s write speeds, up to 550 MB/s sustained write speed, and incredible random write up to 100,000 IOPS (4KB Aligned).
  • newegg Bootable The RevoDrive X2 is powered by the PCI-Express bus and OS bootable allowing for use as the primary boot drive and super-fast system startup. (Motherboard supporting boot over PCI-E is required.)

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible. Never. NEVER.

Pros: Blazing fast. I've never seen another drive that fast.

Cons: I barely even used the thing. It died in under two months, with probably four hours of actual workload on it.

It's been four months since; OCZ still hasn't replaced or refunded. Their staff are wildly abusive; they swear and hang up, and act as if it's a chore to be expected to ship an RMA in under 16 weeks.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy from OCZ again.

2 out of 5 eggsFast, but unreliable

Pros: It's fast when it works.

Cons: I Had high hopes for this drive but i always get corruption errors booting up windows. I have a P6T Deluxe Asus motherboard. I updated to latest bios for both the motherboard and the revo drive and still no luck. I still use the drive cause it cost me so much, but im tired with having to format every month. Grr Never Again!
Intel SSD's never gave me any issues.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the trouble or the money. Very disappointed.

3 out of 5 eggs2nd Review a year on

Pros: Hands down and unquestionably the fastest drive I've owned thus far, but...

Cons: Unable to restore an image to it with a simple recovery disk. It looks like either my brand of motherboard, or one needs to create a specialized integrated recovery disk.
But I just can't get it to restore and OS image to the drive no matter what I tried.

Other Thoughts: I've since moved the OS off this drive and no longer use it as a primary bootable OS drive.
One issue I'm having, and it's not the fault of OCZ, is that I find using deep sleep mode and advanced power settings more to my taste than the drive will handle. If the drive had it's own independant power source, other than the boards PCIe slot, then that may fix that issue. Or maybe, once again, it was my choice of motherboard. I don't know.

3 out of 5 eggsFast, but unreliable

Pros: Very fast.

Cons: Bought this drive in March for a new workstation after having the previous RevoDrive for about a year. In 3 months the drive died, had to file a RMA which was processed promtly, received a replacement within few weeks after filing. Now the older drive died, with the same symptoms. You better have a good backup procedures!

1 out of 5 eggsFAST but to many problems

Pros: Very fast drive

Cons: Slow windows 7 install. I thought the drive had hung up during the install, finally the progress bar started moving. About three months after installing the drive I started getting windows errors, corrupt drive errors. I am tired of this. I saw where OCZ told another newegg customer with similar issues to simply go to the ocz forum and update the firmware. I looked at that , no easy way to do that nor does the website show a firmware for anything other than linux. I am so tired of dealing with the constant drive errors I am installing a new SATA 3 SSD. Not as fast but it will be better than this. I have installed 5 SSd's in new systems with no problems like this. I installed this drive to see what it would do. It is fast but just is not worth the aggravation. If this product has a chance to succeed, the firmware update process will have to be improved.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Very fast (7.9 on WEI). Easy to install given drivers and Win7 SP1 slipstream. Each ASUS provided P8P67 Deluxe (running 2600k) piece of software installed perfectly/easily and works properly.

Cons: Very minor. I am dual booting with a second RAID 0 setup that uses 1 TB Caviar drives (also Win7 SP1). When booted into the OCZ setup, I can access the Caviar setup, but not vice versa. Not yet sure what I need to do to go both ways.

Other Thoughts: After initial setup my boot into Win7 was very fast--about 15 seconds. After I installed everything, my boot time more than doubled. Despite all the exceptionally fast boot times reported here, I think it might be a good idea to expect 30 to 40 seconds after one's machine is "fully loaded" and given the allowed startup items.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome drive!

Pros: Very fast!!!!!!! Trouble free installation on a new Asrock p67 Fatality. Placed in the pcie slot as the only drive and the bios recognized it right away and placed it as boot device #2 after the DVD. Win7 loaded from USB stick with the ocz driver on it and was up and running 10 min later. You can download sp1 from the MS website in bothman exe and iso file. I then raided a couple
of seagates for storage.

Cons: Cost I guess but you should knowmthatnwhen you buy it.

Other Thoughts: Astounding performance! My rig boots into full windows in about 10 seconds.
I got the 160 at a good price on one of Neweggs edeals but wished I would have spent the extra and got the 240gb.

4 out of 5 eggsThis thing rocks

Pros: I love this card. Boot time avg 20 seconds from power off.
Instructions were strait forward. I had no trouble getting the motherboard to recognize it and installed Win 7 fresh with the driver OCZ tells you to download prior to install

Cons: Had trouble with the boot time ( avg 22 min) till I downloaded all the drivers from ASUS for my Crosshair V. Not really a con though

Other Thoughts: Price is a bit high but definitely worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Review, New Build: Very Fast Drive

Pros: Very fast boot-ups, now you can have just about anything you want in your operating system's startup list.
Probably near the fastest drives you can get right now.
This drive has it's own RAID built onto the drive on a chip that is completely independant. This is a big part of what makes it so fast.
OCZ offers a short list of tested Motherboards on it's site and specifically states the need to download the latest driver.

Cons: Not a simple set up and configuration. You need to research this drive & your motherboard carefully, before you puchase it.

Other Thoughts: *Need to download the OCZ drivers for this drive prior to building; Put them on a USB stick and have them ready to go for when they are called for.
(Never use the CD/DVD that comes with any product to install drivers. Download them from the manufacturer before hand and have them ready.
There is a better than likely chance the CD/DVD will already be outdated)

*If your building from the grownd up as I was, you also need to get and flash your MB to the latest BIOS.
*For my MB, I needed to set SATA 2 ports for IDE operation, and this drive for AHCI operation in the BIOS.
*Set for S1 sleep in BIOS, not S3.

3 out of 5 eggswhat a shame

Pros: I want to buy these drive BUT!

Cons: What a shame of such bad customer service. The replies from the company on the forum say very little.
Why wouldn't you have a notice like many products, Stop...did you try to turn XYZ off or setting ABC to this or that?

This makes it so much more helpful before a product gets shipped back with a negative.

You have to consider, many users buy and before the product is put through the paces give a positive review.
Don't reveiw HDD performance unless it's had a good amount of up time. Most positive 5 star reviews ar 1 day to a week or month ownership, hardly from those any more. 1 of them claim over a year. Didn't realize its been available that long..hmm.

Other Thoughts: Too bad some companies don't understand the importance of the smallest customer importance.
Too bad they also release product before a certain level of maturity. But if they do due to some system issues, they should have a disclosure, and perhaps release as a beta with guarantee and support.
