TRIM Support The Vertex 3 Series SSDs offer native TRIM support featured in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Vertex 3 Series features a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and select desktops. A 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket is included with the SSD for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting.

Cons: Then suddenly BIOS did not detect this SSD, I shipped back the SSD for$14+ OCZ sent a replacement BUT still not detected by the BIOS. I search the net, seems this version has a problem. Cons: However, The price for what you get is extremely high. I would say this SSD is worth somewhere in the range of $50 to $80 dollars. This SSD is on the very low end of SSD IMO. WEI gives it only a 7.1 and on a clean build with a clean install starts the PC in just under 40 seconds. Ive tried using this drive on three different builds and have been sorely disappointed at its performance. I bought a Kingston Hyper X drive and installed on same PC and the PC boots in under 15 seconds. Other Thoughts: If this SSD was priced in $50 - $80 range it would have gotten 3 stars Manufacturer Response: Dear Davemiami, We are sorry you feel the price of the Vertex 3 was out of your budget! Cons: Fairly regularly, my BIOS will not see the drive. Usually I have to reboot the computer and reconfigure my BIOS to boot to the SSD by default, once it decides to be detected again. Additionally, every time I install Windows Updates, they fail after the reboot and roll themselves back (Windows 8). Minor issue - The mounting bracket that comes with the SSD is not made for standard case screws, and does not fit most tool-less drive brackets. Fortunately, my tool-less drive brackets have a spot to screw the drive in directly to the brackets. Other Thoughts: Overall, when this drive is working, it works great. WAY faster than any of my old HDDs. If the issues that I'm running into are worked out, then I would be a 5 star happy camper. Cons: Drive died less than a year later. Computer would not recognize it. I have to RMA it back to OCZ. We'll see how that goes. Be sure to back up your files ALL THE TIME when using this drive. Other Thoughts: Backup your data frequently when using this drive. Check OCZ website for updated bios. I admit, I can't remember if I did that with this drive.
