Pros: when it worked it was fast.

Cons: stopped working in less then 1 year! would not buy again. plus returning and dealing with the warranty is a pain. not worth the trouble!

4 out of 5 eggs1 year and an rma later - a follow up for those doing some research

Pros: I said I would update this and since there are still vertex 4's for sale these days, one year later all is well and the 2nd time was the charm. I use this strictly as a OS drive with a 1tb seagate for storage and have no issues.

Cons: Not long aftter the second one arrived OCZ mentioned in one of their own forum posts the 64 would not perform as well as the larger drives because of headroom. Had I known this then I would have gone for a 128 in the beginning. I'd bet money this would apply to any ssd. I ended up doing the rma with OCZ and the turnaround was faster than the original delivery so the 1 egg off with newegg still stands, but the drive by itself is a 5.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned in the previous review I have owned OCZ ssd's sionce the beginning. I have installed other brands for other people in their comps and these still outperform any other brand I have seen and OCZ is second to none for support. The vertex 2 I have in my other comp is now 4 years old and still solid as a rock. Doing your homework and optimizing your os to the drive is THE key factor in long life and also, one more thing, to all of you image cloners or anyone that beefs when ssd's don't show a marked improvment always keep this in mind: A OS optimizes itself to all of your hradware as it installs to the drive, some settings will not change even though you improved your hardware. The only way to see the full impact of improved performance is a clean install of your flavor of os whatever it may be with all the proper updates and drivers installed in the proper order-- yes the order you install things in makes a difference, ESPECIALLY with the Windoze family of OS> That goes from XP to current as I have done 1000's of clean installs. it's not just worth it, it's the golden rule. Don't bother with the driver doctors or settle for a quick fix, use the freshest manufacturers drivers you can get straight from their website. If you settle for anything less and you get subpar performance then remember, your the lazy one that cut the corner and whoever you bought the transfer / cloning software from is laughing to the bank because you didn't need it to start with. Nothing, and I repeat, NOTHING beats a clean os install for performance, even if your just a websurfer with a basic computer and NEVER if you can work around it , use the "factory image and all its bloatware. if you do, you will never see the true performance of your gear.

1 out of 5 eggsRan great until smoke came out

Pros: Great drive, was pleased with the performance and the speed.

Cons: After running for about 10 months the computer could not find the boot drive. I opened up the computer and checked the SSD connections, seemed fine. Started the computer while looking at the drive and smoke came out next to the SATA port (opposite side of power connector). Now I have a dead drive and have to RMA it. Sucks that OCZ does not have an RMA process to ship you a drive while you ship yours back.

Other Thoughts: Will have to see how the RMA process goes.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive!

Pros: Speed (fastest SSD on the market today), price, reliability

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you can get away with a 64GB drive in a laptop or desktop, this one works great!

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Quiet, not too slow, stable

Cons: Lacks the advertised speed of SSDs.

Other Thoughts: I've had this SSD since Christmas of 2012. Its still working fine. It boots up a little bit faster than my old clunker pc. However, I do not see the advertised speed that these SSDs are hyped up as having. After some research, I see its in the specs. But, over all, I'm satisfied with it. I will be getting a larger & faster SSD in the near future.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome drive

Pros: Fast drive

Comes with 3.5" tray adapter

It's an SSD

Cons: Small drive

Other Thoughts: I bought the small drive to install the windows OS and the user data is held by an array of traditional HDD's.

5 out of 5 eggsMakes anything fast!

Pros: Cheap
Fast
Came with adapter bracket for 3.5"
Works well with Sata II socket MSI A55M-P33 FM1 mobo from MSi and with only a 2.5GHz A4-3300 APU never had a hickup.

Upgraded CPU in rig to an A8-3850 and it feels just as fast as my FX-6200 rig which has an SSD on SATA III

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: Including the adapter is a great move and this is a great drive don't hesitate to buy this drive I have used This and 2 Samsung SSDs and its performance is in the same league as the big drives.

1 out of 5 eggsissues but typical - still a good drive

Pros: ive been with the vertex series of drives since the first one, and since i was upgrading the mobo i wanted a sata 3 drive as well. at fiorst this thing looked and was performing like the rocket its said to be --until the bsod and then discheck windows 7 did to it - after that it was a paperweight

Cons: OCZ tools could see it but would not sanitary erase, and windiows wouldnt initialize it fropm another running computer so the new build is back on a vertex 2 and the rma process is underway. in this mass produced world every now and then a rock gets thrown somewhere-- was my turn this time-- all the other OCZ drives ive had and thier ram and power supplies always rock. ill update this review once i get a good one back.
