5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal Drive!

Pros: This SSD is amazing! I bought mine back in November 2012 with my new Asus GV75w and had no issues at start up or ever since. Best drive I've ever owned.

Cons: Umm... it's not a 512gb drive?

1 out of 5 eggsPIECE OF GARBAGE

Pros: Fast-ish, when it works....

Cons: Bought this drive in July/August last year, had to replace 2 months later... Received the RMA replacement after dealing with OCZ RMA (took three weeks before I was issued an RMA#)... now, another 9 months after I received my replacement drive... this one has now gone bad... sat on hold for 40 minutes before I finally left a voicemail demanding a call back.... we'll see what happens.......

Other Thoughts: DONT BUY UNLESS YOU LIKE TO WASTE MONEY.... BUY A SAMSUNG 840 INSTEAD.....

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Raine484,

It appears you did not purchase an Agility 4 through Newegg so I am limited in what I can do to help through the review Portal. I recommend you visit our Support Forum and provide your previous ticket number and email address so we can investigate the previous experience and arrange for another replacement.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience!

Kind Regards,
OCZ Support

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ

Pros: Update.

I eventually did RMA the Agility 4.

I am very happy to say that OCZ has done me a great service by replacing my Agility 4 with a new Vertex 4. I expected a refurb Agility 4, my original one back, or just a new Agility 4.

Instead, I got an SSD that is higher rated, and more expensive than my original purchase!!

OCZ rocks!! I appreciate your service, OCZ!!!

Cons: Agility 4 was bad.

3 out of 5 eggsA little disappointing.

Pros: Decent read speeds (avg. 30MB/sec), good storage size for the price I paid back when I bought it.

Cons: Slower than an older OCZ Vertex 2 drive. A LOT slower.

Other Thoughts: Background: I purchased a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 a while back for my laptop (SATA II). Said Vertex 2 averaged about 50MB/sec random reads (used Defraggler to benchmark the drive about 10 times to get my average). I bought the Agility 4 purely for the extra space, expecting it to perform to par with my Vertex 2, since it uses the SATA III spec. Was I ever wrong. It averages about 30MB/sec random reads, which is nearly 50% slower. I know the Vertex line is better than the Agility line, but come on, this thing is two generations newer. Its definitely turned me away from the Agility line. Vertex only for me with OCZ.

If you're upgrading from a HDD, you'll still be quite impressed (most HDD's get about 2MB/sec random reads). However, for me this was an unexpected speed downgrade. If you're really up for performance, stick with the vertex line.

5 out of 5 eggsNever going back to mechanical

Pros: -Boots Windows 8 seemingly instantly
-Silent(Not sure if that's a pro for something with no moving parts)
-Programs open instantly
-It's sort of like having 256gb of RAM that never turns off.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: After using a solid state drive for so many years, I wasn't sure if it was my cpu that was slow, or my hard drive. Now I know for sure that every time I had to wait for a program to open or something opened, but had black borders and glitches, it was because I had a slow mechanical hard drive that was struggling to keep up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade

Pros: Great upgrade. Fast. Good $/GB. Boots Win8 in under 20 seconds (minutes to boot Win 7 to a HDD).

Cons: More expensive than a HDD.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for the best upgrade for any PC, just change a HDD for an SSD. I have four OCZ drives for 4 of 5 computers. It makes a huge difference. The OCZ has great performance. One of my drives failed after a year, but it was replaced without any problem.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price.

Pros: Cheap
Fast
256gb !

Cons: Nothing yet.

Other Thoughts: These Agi 4 256gb are not the fastest drive on the market but for the price, you cant go wrong. I buyed two of these ( one for 149.99$ and the other for 119.99$ ) and paired them in Raid 0. It gives me 450gb of Raid 0 SSDs space to use. Read and writes are awesome for the rpice i payed !!!!!
