OCZ Vector Series VTR1-25SAT3-512G 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC

Pros: Terrific Speed, Easy Install, Absolutely No Problems Encountered. The HD is so fast, it allows me to have Bitdefender antivirus and firewall at max protect and not even know it.

Cons: OCZ Toolbox was a waste of a download, but I'm not entirely sure If I had the right version. Will notify OCZ and get their expert opinion.

Other Thoughts: Expensive, but well worth it! I hope OCZ doesn't come out with a larger/faster drive for awhile, or I'll be chomping at the bit to buy another one of their products.

Pros: Worked fine for a month or so.

Cons: First started getting some trouble with it after a month or so. Blue screens of death, random rebooting, and many other problems. So i just re-formatted, and changed some things to hopefully make it run better. Turned off paging etc. Worked fine for a few more months. Bought it in January and it's completely dead in May.

Pros: works good after i get it started

Cons: when i placed the order on jan 28th 2013 the first one was a DOA & i had to wait another 2 weeks & pay shipping both ways to RMA it back to new egg.i got the replacement feb 15th.the replacement works pretty good after rebooting the computer about 5 times.when i turn the computer on the first couple of times it freezes before it gets to the desktop & i have to physically shut the computer down & restart it a couple of times before it finally gets to the desktop.& even when it does get to the desktop it sometimes freezes even at the desktop.but once i get it working properly(which is usually after about 5 reboots)then the machine works great.

Other Thoughts: if the first SSD would not have been a DOA & if the replacement one wouldn,t freeze when trying to upload windows then i would give it a 5 but with all the rebooting that i have to do plus the fact that the first one was a DOA that,s why i am only giving it 2 eggs because of that.

Pros: Unbelievably fast, easy to install, actually makes boot up fun. Programs load quicker feels like a new computer.

Cons: Kind of expensive but worth it.

Other Thoughts: My spinning hd died so I decided to upgrade to a SSD. The install was easy and has been running about a month with no issues. I'm going to buy another for my wifes computor asap.

Pros: Fast when working.

Cons: All five drives went bad within hours of installation!

Other Thoughts: I bought FIVE of these 512gb Vector drives. They all started acting erratic on the first day! Totally unacceptable! They started not showing up one by one. Then the OS drive was starting up with bad blocks. Total waste of time! I will never ever buy OCZ products based on this experience. I should listened to the other reviews. I replaced them with Samsung 840 Pro Series drives, and have have zero issues after nearly a week. And they're just as fast...but more importantly, RELIABLE! Steer clear of these like the plague! Would give zero eggs if possible.

This is a very strange and unique situation. A single Vector failure is extremely rare, while 5 defies explanation. Vector has been proven to be an ultra-reliable SSD with extremely positive reviews, both in print and web. If all 5 of your drives failed either they were damaged in shipping or something was dramatically wrong with the system. I would normally like to gather information and make sure the drives are tested immediately, but it appears this purchase was not through Newegg.

Pros: Fast drive access. Blows away platter based hard drives.

Cons: Dies without warning. My laptop suddenly had no hard drive. I tested the drive in an external "Black X" drive reader and the OCZ was stone cold dead. I tried several other SATA external drive readers and they all said, "What drive" If you get this driver, you'd better have a constant backup utility running. I lot one month's work.

Pros: The speed at both the uncompressed and compressed file types. amazing. (when it worked)

Cons: As most who know that have it. The (power-fail firmware corrupt issue) is kinda a huge Con... But with that said, I am so Glad to hear it is only a Firmware issue, because this Drive is amazingly Fast.

Other Thoughts: I have always been pretty happy with OCZ's Quality Hardware.... and occasionally disappointed at the Firmware/Driver issues they have had. But the Pro outweighs the Con. Unless no update comes out soon....

Pros: Works great in my Lenovo notebook. Speeds are about 520MB/s read and 490 MB/s for write. A bit lower than the specs, but its a notebook so I whatever. Access time is really low, .03ms? Wow.

Cons: The Acronis software doesn't support Windows 8... slight minus but should probably get updated.

Pros: This is a great performing drive for the money. A good balance between capacity and cost.

Cons: While I do appreciate the manufacturer response and their offer to help, I've already returned the drive and purchased the Samsung 840 Pro instead.

There are really only 3 mainstream operating systems out there, Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The most recent versions of all three have good hardware detection capability.

There should be no reason why modern hard drives should not be detected by any of these OS's.

I spent many wasted hours trying to get this OCZ drive to work, and finally gave up.

The Samsung drive was detected with no problem at all.

Again, while I do appreciate the offer to help (after the fact), I still have to say "shame shame!" to OCZ.

Other Thoughts: Cons: I chose this drive as an upgrade for my mid-2011 Mac Mini. For some reason, the Mac OS (10.8.2, all updates done) does not recognize this drive. I could boot my Mini from a Linux Live CD (Ubuntu) and see the drive fine, format it, etc., but not from Mac. Your mileage may vary if you have a Macbook or whatever, but to be on the safe side, I would avoid this drive if you're a Mac user.

Pros: Picked this up three weeks ago and installed it in a 2012 MacBook Pro. Pretty easy installation, just took a backup of the hard disk using an external usb hdd, unscrew the back of the mac swap and boot.

Shocked at speed differences.

Cons: None, could be cheaper.
