TRIM Support The OCZ Vertex 2 Series SSDs offer native TRIM support that can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.

It installed with no problem because I happened to have four short screws to use to mount it in the drive bay of my Dell T3400 Workstation. Moved the Origin account from a SATA 3 10K verlociraptor to this SATA II SSD drive and it is way faster at loading games. WAAAYYYY FAAASTER. Great size 240Gb Had the updated firmware. Good waranty 180 Days Works :) Cons: It is a 3.5" drive instead of 2.5" drive. Which for some might be an issue, but with my LanBoy Air, it works perfectly. Keep in mind the size, it's not made for Laptops. It actually took a little while for it to be recognized and ready to be used in windows for some reason. This made me a little nervous. I've transferred about 52Gb to it so far without any hitches. Size, 240Gb is great, but some times you need more, so I will get another. Other Thoughts: I was a little hesitant at buying a refurbished SSD, but the price made me cave in and I am glad I did. This is my 3rd SSD and you really can't go back. Size is great for an SSD. N/A 3/1/2013 11:09:38 AM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5great for fusion drive Pros: good match for my Mac Pro, as it fits like any other 3.5" drive. it's not as fast as the newest SATA III drives, but my mac only has SATA II anyway. pairs well with a 7200rpm 2tb HDD for a DIY fusion drive. doesn't show up with TRIM support in OSX, but otherwise seems to work like an OEM fusion drive. Cons: I don't know how long the warranty coverage is Other Thoughts: Great value refurbished; if I was buying new I'd probably get something else. definitely keep backups if you're using this as a primary disk. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Cons: Nothing but problems, as SSD was ultimately found to be the root of all evil with my first attempted computer build. Buyer beware with refurbished items that come with a level of fragility. Even if it is a 4 year old SSD it was still a much needed upgrade over my 5 year old 1TB HD. Cons: Really felt like I was taking a chance on a refurb SDD, turns out I was. First drive came dead on arrival. RMA'd and got a second that worked like a charm....for 3 days. Now it's got the dreaded red/green light and is undetectable everywhere. It froze about 3 times in a row then poof, dead. I don't think I'll be testing my luck a third and go for the refund. My own time and effort is too valuable, goes to show you get what you pay for I guess. Other Thoughts: Newegg had no faults during this, shipped well and secure, RMA was my first ever and it was as smooth as could be. Glad it took this long for an RMA given the number of products I've ordered through Newegg over the past 6 years. Pros: None Cons: Froze on the first installation of windows. It tool three times to have install. Now that I am in windows I having nothing but issues with it. Clearly this item was not refurbished.
