OCZ Agility 2 SATA II 3.5” Solid State Drives deliver the same performance as the 2.5” edition in a larger form factor to easily integrate into desktop applications without the need to install additional hardware, with additional value than the original at a lower cost per gigabyte. Designed to excel in both sequential and random read/write speeds up to 10,000 4KB random write IOPS, the 3.5” Agility 2 maximizes productivity when using as a primary storage or boot drive, minimizing program load times and completing tasks with blazing speed.

Using the latest controller technology with mainstream IOPS performance for a more cost-effective solution, the 3.5” Agility 2 provides a faster, more responsive PC experience complete with TRIM support to keep your drive operating at peak performance in Windows 7 systems. Built with SATA 3Gb/s, Agility 2 3.5” drives easily integrate into today’s desktop platforms as the ultimate storage upgrade.

  • newegg Cool, quiet and durable operation OCZ Agility 2 SSDs feature a durable yet lightweight housing, and because they have no moving parts, they are more rugged than conventional hard discs. Available in ample 90GB to 480GB capacities, the Agility 2 is an ideal hard drive replacement for first-time SSD upgraders in need of primary desktop storage or a spacious application and OS boot drive.
  • newegg Ultimate reliability Designed for ultimate reliability, Agility 2 Series SSDs have an excellent 2 million hour mean time between failure (MTBF) ensuring peace of mind over the long term.
  • newegg TRIM Support The OCZ Agility 2 Series SSDs offer native TRIM support that can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
  • newegg SATA II Interface The OCZ Agility 2 Series SSDs feature SATA II interface supporting up to 3Gb/s data transfer rates and Native Command Queuing (NCQ) for optimum performance, efficiency, convenience and flexibility.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns perfectly.. 107GB Usable

Pros: Got it on sale, installed easily did a clean install of Windows 7 in no time at all on my desktop. Shows as having only a few hours on the drive. Looks and appears new.

Sold as and rated at 120GB on the box.. reality is... not true.

Cons: Run the OCZ Tool from the OCZ website and you'll see it's rated at 115GB not 120GB as sold. Ok it's only 5GB but still not exactly what's stated on the box. You'll also find you as expected less space once it's formatted. Expect to get in about 107GB of usable space once formatted. My other SSD rated at 120GB delivered 111GB formatted.

Drive is slower vs my other SSD (new 120GB drive) although. To be fair my my other SSD is a newer model rated at SATA6, however my motherboard only supports SATA2. This drive seems to top out at 180mb write speed vs 280mb write for the new SSD. Both where tested with a clean install of Windows 7 and the same basic drivers. Same SATA cable plugged into the same port. It isn't a major con when compared to my mechanical drive.

Other Thoughts: I really can't complain for the price paid I've got a 4 year old (then high end) desktop that boots up extremely fast. Any programs loaded on the drive start in an instant. Well worth the money and assuming it doesn't die anytime soon I'd not think twice about getting another one.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the risk

Pros: None. DOA.

Cons: Thought I would risk going refurbished for the savings. SSD arrived DOA. Now I have the time, hassle and expense of RMA. Just pay the extra for new... it's not worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ Agility 2

Pros: Looks and feels new, light, VERY quiet, as if there is nothing there!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this SSD about a week ago, it was already with the latest firmware, so I didn't have to update anything. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 ( I was considering cloning my old hard drive, but a fresh copy is better). My computer boots up in about 15 seconds, and the programs are very fast, even shutting down is fast. I took the advice of getting this SATA II SSD, as my motherboard does not support SATA III, and I could not be happier. Everything is lighting fast, highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsI bought 7 and they all work

Pros: If you have an older computer with SATA II ports, there's no sense buying a SATA III SSD drive. Save a few bucks and buys these refurbished SATA II drives.

WEI rating is 7.8

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought 7 of these drives to refurbish 7 old Dell Optiplex 755 computers that, when new, only had 2GB DDR2-667 RAM, slow 80GB Hard Drives, and pitiful on-board graphics.

I upgraded all 7 machines to 8GB DDR2-800 RAM, an ATI HD 6750 graphics card (had to go with a single slot solution 'cuz the CPU fan shroud was too close to the PCI-express x16 slot to allow a dual slot card), and these refurbished 120GB Vertex 2 SSD drives, and the machines are now lightning fast. Only the WEI for the CPU remained the same at 5.8. The RAM had a modest increase from 5.8 to 6.1, the graphics went from a lowly 3.4 to 7.3, and the disk speed went all the way up to 7.8. Only way to beat that is to buy a new computer that will take advantage of the crazy fast speed of a SATA III SSD drive.

I know these drives were full of issues back when they were first released, but it appears that OCZ has managed to resolve them. The two reviewers below who only gave 2 and 3 eggs should be ignored. They did not buy these refurbished drives. They are simply griping about old issues that have been resolved. Don't let their opinions sway you. If I got 7 out of 7 good drives, then I think that's proof enough that the drives have been fixed.

2 out of 5 eggsREFURBISHED?

Pros: Decent price

Cons: Look at the picture of the box - zoom in - it says "refurbished." How do you refurbish an SSD? You can't.

3 out of 5 eggsBeware, the original had lots of issues

Pros: OCZ seems to be very responsive to RMA claims and ships replacements relatively hassle-free.

Cons: This is the refurbished version of #N82E16820227593 that was plagued with reliability issues. 34 of 71 reviews rated it 1 or 2 stars with people having it replaced multiple times. Search the old number for more information.
