Every computer needs more memory, even if you think you have enough. No matter what computer you have, or if you're building a new system, memory is vital to a computer. Generally speaking the more you have the better the computer will perform. Just make sure which specific type of memory your system requires.
Keeping that in mind G.Skill's 1GB DDR2 module is a good way to enhance your computer. One 1GB module will be a tremendous benefit to any system, whether it's an Intel or an AMD based processor. This type is DDR2 533(PC2 4200), which runs at 533MHz, and will run on any compliant motherboard. For a simple and inexpensive way to increase performance of your system, pick up some of G.Skill's DDR2 memory and kick things up a notch.

This is excellent stuff.
- Pros: Everyone's talked about how rock solid this RAM is. But something nobody else has mentioned is what it's a great overclocker. At 2.0v, it runs stable at 666 MHz with 4-4-4-12 timings. Considering a lot of DDR2-666 RAM runs at 2.0v, it really makes you wonder what you're paying for with the more expensive RAM.
- Cons: No heat spreader so some possible issues with cooling. However, this didn't seem matter to matter at all, as the memory passed memtest-86 ten times in a row while overclocked.
- Other Thoughts: I am running one of these sticks on an HTPC setup with C2D E6300 on Asus P5B Deluxe, a board known to be somewhat picky about RAM. No problems whatsoever with this stick. I'll probably replace it with dual-channel setup soon, but I'll always keep this one in case of emergency.
Great Value
- Pros: Plugged it into Presario SR2010NX running Windows XP, and increased from 512MB (2 x 256) to 1.25GB. I have read reviews that this Compaq is fickle when it comes to memory upgrades, so I went with G.SKILL because of it's consistent excellent rating. Memory was recognized no problem. Computer is much faster. Have run PC for several days with high CPU usage with no problems.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: As with most previous Newegg purchases this product arrived in less than one day. For the price this was a good investmenyt. Just ordered a 2nd stick so that I can run dual channel setup.
