Every computer needs more memory, even if you think you have enough. No matter what computer you have, or if you're building a new system, memory is vital to a computer. Generally speaking the more you have the better the computer will perform. Just make sure which specific type of memory your system requires.

Keeping that in mind G.Skill's 1GB module is perfect for adding to the performance of your computer. Designed for high performance systems, the distinctive orange heat-spreader helps cool the memory because higher timings and overclocking create more heat. This module is DDR2 800(PC2 6400), which runs at 800MHz, and will run on any appropriate motherboard. You’ll get a great return on your memory dollar with this module from G.Skill!

  • newegg G.SKILL DDR2 SDRAM G.SKILL system memory provides unbelievable performance and broad compatibility for PC enthusiasts. G.SKILL system memory is 100% manually tested twice to ensure top-level product yield and quality.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfection!

Pros: I've had this thing since 2010 and it's still chugging along just fine. Haven't had a single issue with it.

Cons: It's only 1GB and it's only DDR2. But you should already be aware of this before you buy. :)

Other Thoughts: I've since gotten a new computer so I can have DDR3 RAM, but this memory is still working just fine in my old comp. I'll be turning my old machine into a LAN Party Play Station. :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Plays nice w/ a G.Skill 6400CL5D kit purchased 4 years ago.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Had to update bios on DG33TL mobo otherwise the GPU would get stuck on 2D clocks with the 4th stick in. Vista 32bit, 3580MB Physical in Task Manager.

5 out of 5 eggscheap memory module for a good price

Pros: cheap price and lifetime warranty can’t beat that can you?

Cons: none that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: With a lifetime warranty what can go wrong, besides the fact that they won’t be selling the memory module anymore one day he of course. This is a very good memory module I have one of them inside one of my dell computers and I made just change at all of them and put in G. skill memory modules. Anyway a good memory module for those who are on a budget. May just buy two Just in case my OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold GX XTC Dual Channel Memory goes out one of them did, I just may replace that one too.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works when it works

Cons: I got a defective one in the matched pair that I purchased as part of a bundle. The bad stick is intermittent but finally traced it down to this memory.

If G.Skill reads this I would like assistance in obtaining a replacement under their warranty.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks as always.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 3 months

Pros: Cost

Cons: Poor quality.

Other Thoughts: I installed two sticks in mid-September. By mid-November I could no longer reboot without issues and finally today simply couldn't reboot at all. With either stick the system was unstable, and with both removed it was fine. I can see one bad stick as just bad luck, but two within the same period of time is just bad quality.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram, not for gamers though

Pros: It's cheep to get more. Great heatspreader for overclocking. Perfect for normal use.

Cons: Face it it's 800, could be faster, not exactly ram for a mid range gaming system, but if you lack funds it's cheep and it works.

Other Thoughts: I'm an avid gamer, when I built my PC I went for cheep vs. speed. Looking back, I wish I would have just gotten a DDR3 MoBo, If your a gamer, I'd advise you to man up and just get DDR3. But this works fine, and the price is right.

5 out of 5 eggsDId what was expected

Pros: 3 years ago I purchased 2 gigabytes of this for my first home build. Ran flawlessly the ever since.

Cons: Unless i just lucked out with good sticks, none.

Other Thoughts: 800 MHz is a somewhat slow speed nowadays, at least for gaming. If you're building a rig for speed, get something faster.
