Boost your system performance with this 4GB (2x2GB) kit from G.Skill. This PC2-6400 kit will have your system screaming in no time. The included heat spreaders will keep your memory cool even when you're running your system flat out.
Tested and evaluated beyond most peoples' skills at tweaking, maybe YOU can be the one to push it to its 64-bit best! Rated at CL5-5-5-15 standard timings, you'll find it hard to do better than G.Skill has managed to design for you!
Pros: This is a really great bargain. I purchased this memory for a new 3d workstation/gaming rig running Vista Ultimate 64-bit and the performance is astounding. Great timings for the capacity of the modules and rock-solid stability.
Cons: Not so great with overclocking. Doesn't really want to operate over 1000MHz but that's hardly a con.
Other Thoughts: This memory does exactly what it was designed for, does it well, and does without flinching. It's definitely a case of capacity-over-performance, and one could do slightly better with memory specifically binned for high performance and the strain of overclocking but as my first choice I'm really impressed. My MSI P35 Platinum motherboard auto-detected this memory as 6-6-6-16 so I manually set the timings to 5-5-5-15 as stated on the memory's factory sticker and haven't had any problems. Currently running at 835MHz with the bus clocked to 333MHz (200MHz default, 1:1.25 cpu:memory ratio, I think) and have not had any issues with intense, long duration gaming. Because of the pricing I'm honestly considering purchasing a second kit.
we do have a new F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ if you want to run DDR2 1000 :)
thank you

Very nice price for decent chips
Reviewed By: Shagz on 10/14/2007
Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: low voltage means low heat, high frequency, pretty good CAS #'s, fall right in line with stability
Cons: if you only have 2 slots for ram, you may not see a huge speed boost.
Other Thoughts: CAS #'s are where RAMs speed sits. don't be fooled too much by the '1066 Mhz' boast. the 5's are (giving short version as to keep post small) the number of times the CPU has to skip a write/read to give the RAM time to recover. the last number is the overall time before the bank is flushed. if the last number is less than 1st+2nd+3rd, you will chance getting stability probs. but if it's too high, you will be wasting cycles. Proper Motherboard support should make these fly, and still be stable. (DualMode will allow the CPU to alternate write between chips, essentially halving the 5, to a 2.5). Having more ram chips, and a decent NorthBridge will compliment them well.

Four sticks works like a charm
Reviewed By: ottomanwolf on 12/19/2007
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Installed four sticks (8 gigs purchased from Newegg) in a new build. Used a Gigabyte GA-P35-D53P motherboard running VISTA Home Premium (64 bit). It runs flawlessly. I have not tried to overclock yet. Played Crysis for four hours straight (several times). No issues, no problems.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I ususally stick to Corsair, but couldn't pass up the value of this offer. G.Skill has a new fan (and I love the way they monitor the comments here - too many companies don't seem to care)

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Low price for 4gigs of ram. Low voltage. And very compact. 5-5-5-15 isnt as fast as it gets but definitely fast enough for my hardcore gaming habit. Doesnt get much better than this for under $100.
Cons: Wish it was 4-4-4-12.
Other Thoughts: Great design. Upgraded from Corsair XMS with that bulky headspreader. This ram is nice and compact with a simple heatsink on it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
