5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Easy To install and improved performance

Cons: Price is still high for dated technology and I had to reinstall windows 7 due to a weird compatibility issue which was unknown.

Other Thoughts: Other than having to reinstall windows which wasn't a problem since I had just did it a week prior so nothing of importance was lost

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory...but

Pros: A guaranteed matched set to run on an nvidia 7xxx series board. Worked right out of the package , no tweaking necessary. Received as a gift from my sister (got newegg another new customer).

Cons: The shipping , come on newegg , $150.00 worth of memory & its shipped in bubblewrap ! I'm also curious why it cost's $50.00 more than just getting 2 2x2gb kits ? wouldn't think that matched memory carries such a high markup for "older " tech.

Other Thoughts: Thought about upgrading to a newer series mobo & ddr3 combo , but that also calls for another cpu ,etc . Not worth it to me atm (and can't afford it ).

5 out of 5 eggsBought 5 years ago

Pros: Still running flawlessly after 5 years of gaming, media use, and in general near 24 hour operation. Never a memory error, withstood plenty of overclocking stages, and some underclocking (for better latency settings)

Cons: Not a single con!

Other Thoughts: If your motherboard supports these and you dont need a huge amount of ram, these are a great purchase idea!!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfect so far...

Pros: Stable and works at specified 800Mhz. The BIOS defaulted to 1.92V using SPD settings. Haven't had a frozen screen since upgrading to this RAM. GSkill lifetime warranty is added peace of mind considering single Con below.

Cons: Two of the 4 sticks (from the same pair pack) had the heat spreaders separate from the adhesive strip that secures it to the memory chips. I think the hinge design of the spreader led to this issue since you could tell it was not closed flat (looks like a narrow 'V' edgewise) and was cocked like a spring when initially installed. The adhesive on the tape could only hold it together for so long. So I pinched them together enough so the spreaders were bent to past parallel and it seems to be fixed now.

Other Thoughts: It came packaged in one box with 2 plastic packs with one pair of dual channel sticks each. It could be me but the description 'Quad Kit' led me to expect quad channel sticks (maybe they are- idk).

2 out of 5 eggs1 out of 4 sticks was bad

Pros: 3 sticks out of the 4 work great, no problems so far

Cons: 1 of the 4 sticks was bad and would not work. Could have been damaged in shipment, the box looked a little beat up.

For that price i would expect that everything gets to my house in 1 piece and working order ? :(

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear one module was bad. This is a match tested 8GB kit, so all modules should work properly in the same system. Please send the kit in for RMA and the new kit should work flawlessly. This memory should also be plug and play for most DDR2 computers, so it ia a great kit for someone that needs 8GB of memory without the hassle of tweaking. If you have any further questions or issues, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsmy wifes poor motherboard

Pros: Great reviews, good history

Cons: I can only give it one star. This memory would post in my wifes system while i took out her old ram (used it in mine) and put this in her system. Windows would load like if i was running of 10MGz system. Eventualy got CPUID installed and showed 8 gigs of ram, ... and no data. I did alot of review reading and problem solving. eventualy i put the old ram back in (that was working in my system fine) and had the same issue. Put old ram back in my system with her windows drive. Boots up fine.

I have the luxery that both of our systems are the same minus recent few purchases for her.

I read in manufacture responses that it may be needed to up the ram voltage to 1.9 ish and the North Bridge to 1.4 ... still did not help.
Im running an old MSI 7350 motherboard. Nothing says it shouldnt work.

Other Thoughts: i will be filing a RMA in the morning.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having a problem. Please contact our technical support department directly with details and they will be able to troubleshoot the issue. A possible solution is to check for the latest BIOS. Many times a BIOS updates can solve such a problem. This memory should have no problem on this motherboard. Feel free to test them individually to see if one is bad causing the problem.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsTop Notch Memory

Pros: Right out the box you can tell this is top quality memory but testing it in a running system will also meet a top quality standard. Bought it for a new desktop server i just built. I had 4 x 1 GB= 4GB total of PC2-6400 laying around so thats what put in it. The system was still a bit sluggish so I went ahead and ordered this set and was not disappionted at all! They got excelent benchmarks, overclocked like a champ, and the heat spreaders dropped my mem temps about 23%.

Cons: None
