Top Quality RAM that Works!

Pros: I bought this to replace 4x1GB sticks of Ram that would not run at the advertised speed. I put these new G.Skill 2x2GB sticks in, ran memtest v3.4 and they passed at 1068MHz at 2.1 volts. The heatsink on this ram will allow you to install 4 sticks 4x2GB without having any problems. If you want to run 2x2GB sticks of rams for a 64-bit OS at DDR2-1066 then this is the RAM to get.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the trouble and get 2x2GB sticks not 4x1GB sticks.

Pros: Bought 2 sets for 8GB, FOR GIGABYTE MA790FX-DS5, CPU=Phenom 9600 Black Edition. I am able to run all 8GB at 1066MHZ, O.S=VISTA ULTIMATE_X64. EVEREST ULTIMATE shows, mem timings as 5-7-7-20, 2T And memclock at 536MHZ.

Pros: Installed in a gigabyte P35-DQ6 and running @ 1066, 5,5,5,12 @ 2.1 volts...been up for a couple weeks without a hiccup. Great ram for the price

Works great at 800

Pros: Very stable at 800. Nice color. 5-5-5-15 timings.

Cons: I combed the tech forums on the web, including the GSkil forums, in search of a combination of bios settings that would work with my mobo and CPU to reach the advertised speed of 1066 but to no avail. I spent hours trying different settings and rerunning memtest. Emailed GSkil support and I tried what they recommended but it did not work either. Can't get it to pass memtest after 3 or 4 passes at best and that is at 5-6-6-17, 2.2v. I can get it to boot into Windows and it will appear stable for a while then BSOD after a few hours.
At this point, I am becoming resigned to the fact that I will not get this ram up to 1066 and will have to live with it running at 800. Keep hoping someone will come up with the right configuration for this mobo and ram and share it with me (if it is even possible).

Dear Customer

We apologize for the inconvenience. In order to operate DDR2-1066, make sure the memory is only installed in one DIMM per channel. This is due to an AMD processor limitation; the AM3 processor you are using may not be able to operate DDR2-1066 in the same channel on that particular AM2/AM2+ motherboard. If you would like to operate them in the same channel, you will need to set memory frequency to DDR2-800 and use tCL 4 - tRCD 4 - tRP 4 - tRAS 12 memory timings. This will in fact produce the same or even faster speeds than DDR2-1066 with 5-5-5-15 timings. If you have any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.
