Top Quality RAM that Works!

Pros: I bought this to replace 4x1GB sticks of Ram that would not run at the advertised speed. I put these new G.Skill 2x2GB sticks in, ran memtest v3.4 and they passed at 1068MHz at 2.1 volts. The heatsink on this ram will allow you to install 4 sticks 4x2GB without having any problems. If you want to run 2x2GB sticks of rams for a 64-bit OS at DDR2-1066 then this is the RAM to get.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the trouble and get 2x2GB sticks not 4x1GB sticks.

Looks Great

Pros: Great speed. 1066 that runs stock @800 timings

Cons: To all those claiming it will not run at spec speeds....Im almost 100% sure this is due to your motherboard/cpu setup. For example....AMD based chipsets, Yes most motherboards will say they have full ddr2 1066 support and this is true till you read the fine print...Most newer motherboards will only support 1066 as standard if and ONLY if the 1066 memory speed is supported by the cpu itself. Most people may be unaware to this but DDR stands for Double Data Rate. Meaning whatever speed your ram is. Its actually only half that speed but inputing twice as much info per cycle. This statement is true for ddr400 being 200mhz doubled hence the ddr(double data rate). also ddr2 800, same concept. ddr2 667 being ran @ 333mhz. With this being said....ddr2 800 is the standard max ddr2 ram speed. Do the research and you'll find that ddr2 1066 is NOTHING more than a overclocked ddr2 800 chip. Overclocked thru a MHZ (bus speed) increase and stabalized thru an increase in voltage

Other Thoughts: Hopefull this will shed light on your ideas about ram upgrades. Now if your motherboard has full ddr2 1066 support but your cpu only supporting 800, this can possibly be fixed thru a bios update tho I never recomend updating the bios for such a minor reason. shell out extra cash and get a cpu with 1066 support. Now if you choose not to upgrade to a cpu with 1066 support you can YES you can still use this ram. Just will be downclocked to the highest supported speed by your cpu being 800mhz. This is not a flaw due to lower mhz speeds equaling tighter timings. This ram should run 4-4-4-12-1T possibly tighter giving you more performance increase than this stick @ default 5-5-5-15 timings. Also giving you a closer 1/1 cpu/ram ratio for fater responce time...Hope this helps

Pros: This ram is very fast and provides a very large user space for all of my additional video hardware. My system configuration is AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition
Clocking @ 3.6 Ghz HTLINK @ 2600 Mhz(2) DDR2 Clock @ 1066 bus is 533(2) @ 2.1 CVolt for the EPP Standard
3 WAY SLI GTX285 or model number BFGRGTX2851024OCE and 4 SATA 3.0 Gbps 10,000 RPM.
TWO P1 PCIE-1X Ageia Physx Cards.
One Blueray Burner.(Model and Brand is unimportant)

NOTICEABLE CHANGES:

Gaming FPS Increased as well and the access timesfor application loadup was faster too.
My very last notation here for readers is renders were much quicker with the imporved resources.
VERY very fast Aero and KDE4 interfaces improved as well.

Follow your Motherboard Manual for the Matching Qualified Vendors Listed Memory (QVL_Memory)
Mathcing yourMemory to your Chipset creates greater system stability.

Cons: There is a slight power hit when I first powered up the system inthe new install.
I resolved this issue with a Power Supply Upgrade to 1200 Watt BFG Model.

Other Thoughts: My wife bought this ram for me. Bandwidth increased from 12,968 Mbps to 33,468 Mbps. SATA Transfers also Increased. The HTLINK changed from 2400Mhz limit to 2600 Limit.
A small technical note to all of you out there. AMD is not at the front end for the Clock speeds it is at the transport bus clocks. (Hypertransport Link)
When it is configured correctly the system is much faster than expected. very quick and responsive to the user.
I work in development and digital content creation.
I multiboot to 3 Operating systems flawlessly and fast.

Great Ram

Pros: So far they have performed really well, I have no complaints. Easy install and great overall speed

Cons: Nothing to speak of.

Other Thoughts: I actually just upgraded to a 64 bit OS and now I am looking to go up to 8 gigs. The Price has nearly doubled since I purchased this Ram! What happened?

Need an RMA

Pros: This RAM looks great! It does speed things up an incredible amount on my PC with Windows XP or with Windows 7.

Cons: Con is that I've had so many blue screens from this memory failing. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what. I have 2 hard drives, one with Windows XP 32-bit and one with Windows 7 64-bit ultimate. I maxed my MOBO out to 8GB with these and currently went back to my lower end RAM sticks because of being tired of dealing with one system dump after another.

Other Thoughts: I got this upgrade as a Crhistmas present to myself and wish that I would have tested it more before waiting to open it up and now find out that I cna't return until I talk to somebody at newegg or at g skill...

Simply set the memory frequency to DDR2-1066, timings to tCL 5 - tRCD 5 - tRP 5 - tRAS 15 - Command Rate 2, and voltage 2.10V and everything should work just fine.
