Cons: **These Pi Blacks have changes from the original one from several years ago**

I purchased a set of these as a back-up to my originals,, unfortunately they are not even close,,nowhere close to being in the same ballpark for overclocking.

My original ones from '08 run 954mHz at cl4

I stopped testing the overclocks when they wouldn't post at 899mHz !

Other Thoughts: G.Skill will likely say its variation in chips,,WRONG ANSWER!


The original ones were based on 80nm process and there is a good chance that the new ones are on even lower nm process.
This means they have the potential to overclock even greater.

G.Skill ; the real answer is your RAM controllers, not chip variation, and you know it.

Pros: Excellent RAM when it works. Low heat, low voltage, tight timing, cool looking. Stable at factory specs.

Cons: Bought my first kit back in 2011, few months ago I decided to buy another one to max out my system at 8gb. At first it was nice and stable, then I started getting glitches in games thinking that it was my SLI setup. Tested all components individually and couldn't find the problem. Left my PC sitting for a month or so, (being very busy) I decided to play some online FPS last week and my PC would BSOD as soon as it reached W7 welcome screen. Found 1 module dead after running memtest. Bummer!!!

Other Thoughts: I'm surprised that my 2 year old modules are still running strong and the new set died so fast. Waiting for RMA approval, and for some reason it's taking longer for them to reply than creepy PATRIOT MEMORY.

Pros: Works great, no problems thus far.

Cons: Over-priced.

Pros: Its not broken, and my mobo gets along with it, which is as much as I can hope for from RAM. A much needed upgrade from 2gigs.

Cons: That sexy heat spreader makes my old ram look so boring.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy memory without doing your research.

Pros: I have never been this pleased with any memory purchase.Plug in and go.....period!I will never understand why tech-nuts have to play with the settings and tweak every little thing on their computers.I have not had one issue with these sticks.Lovin' it.

Pros: Impressive looking, bought for the high rated reviews of this product.

Cons: 1 stick died after a few hours of use. No overclocking, in a standard mobo, no gaming. Just died.

Generally this memory should be used in performance motherboards that can accept the low timings, but if used in a standard motherboard, make sure settings are detected correctly in BIOS. Improper settings can cause the system to be unstable and eventually corrupt the memory. With the proper settings, you should be very impressed with the product.
