5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: It worked straight out of the package. Gets along well with my other 2 sticks of memory I bought few years ago.It has given my aging PC some life. Have a total of 8gb of this memory with a evga 750ti and amd phenom 1090t. Plays bf4 nice and smooth.

Cons: Shipping was kinda slow. I liked the old days when new egg packages arrived very fast.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: no issues with this ram and it works with the specified timings.

Cons: The heat sink is pretty large. I didn't have a problem in my case but it could be a little difficult in a tight installation.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value and Price

Pros: Good memory to max out my aging desktop. Speed up responsiveness of PC. G. SKILL Support.

Cons: 1 DIMM out of the 4 I purchased was DOA.

Other Thoughts: I bought 8GB worth of this memory on my last purchase, 1 DIMM wound up being DOA. I RMA-ed it no-hassle with G.SKILL and had the replacement in-hand within 4 days of sending the defective DIMM back.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks great. DDR2 expensive

Pros: Runs great, heat sinks are overkill imo but give this ram a mean look.

1 out of 5 eggs1.9-2.0v, not 1.8-1.9v

Pros: Looks like great RAM, just not what I ordered.

Cons: The package is labeled 100% correctly -- notably 1.8-1.9V -- but the RAM itself is labeled as 1.9-2.0V looks completely. I bought this out-of-date RAM to match what's currently in my system and max out to 8 GB. It's not usable as-is; I've contacted NewEgg and plan to contact the manufacturer directly.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We apologize for any inconvenience. The newer batches are 1.90V-2.0V, so we will make the necessary revisions for accurate information. The memory will still perform the same, but instead of inputting 1.90V for DRAM Voltage, you may need to try up to 2.0V. With sufficient power, the memory will work great for any high performance DDR2 system. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsSlow shipping

Pros: Good RAM, all 4 sticks up and running. Great looking RAM and fast too! I dropped one egg due to the slow shipping.

Cons: Newegg dropped the ball on this order. It was shipped via FedEx, then handed off to USPS. For an order coming from California to Idaho should never take more than 4 days. Newegg could have sent it via USPS and it would have got here faster. I get products from Florida shipped USPS and it gets here faster than this last order. The FedEx hand off to USPS is what caused the delay.

Other Thoughts: I guess I am just spoiled because Newegg normally ships to me a lot faster than this last order.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you have four modules of this RAM running fast in your system. With 8GB of DDR2-800 CL4, your computer will be quick and smooth. With today's memory demanding programs, it is easy for DDR2 systems to slow down during high usage. You should not have that problem again. With regards to shipping, unfortunately that is something we do not control so we can not help with that. Hopefully it is a one time delay and it does not happen again. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsSafe enough for QWERTY

Pros: Same tight timing as the 1Gb/DIMM memory it replaced.
Good price for “old” RAM.
Mfg. monitors the review thread.
Plenty of surface area on the heat sinks.
Overclocks well right out of the gate.
Sets to 4-4-4-12 without any problems.

Cons: No real cons when it comes to performance, stability or durability.

Other Thoughts: I have never had a problem with Gskill memory up until this last batch; Nov 2012.
I purchased 8gigs (2 pkgs) of this and had issues with both sets. One pair couldn't get through POST and the second died after about 5 boots while I tried to track down the exact problems. Luck of the draw I guess; it happens with all components. RMA with Newegg was a breeze; customer service is a big part of how they have earned my business over the years.
4-4-4-12, huh? I don’t know how long I had the timing set wrong but I did (accidentally) discover that this will run at even tighter timings. This would not have happened had used the number pad instead of the QWERTY. Gotta love that Intel P-35!

5 out of 5 eggsJust What The Doctor Ordered

Pros: Installation was a snap (no pun intended). No heat problems. Performs well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have an older computer (home-built) with an Asus M2V-MX SE motherboard running Windows XP Pro. When I built the system I installed 2GB of RAM. Over the years, after countless software updates, 2GB wasn't doing the trick anymore so I decided to upgrade. I am very pleased with the results.

3 out of 5 eggsHalf and Half

Pros: One works. Much tighter timings than the ram it replaced.

Cons: The other stick doesn't work! Computer won't post with the second stick, no matter which ram slot I put it in.

Other Thoughts: I haven't decided whether I should return via Newegg, or RMA through G.SKILL.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory is a good upgrade for your computer. This is a low latency, high performance kit that will perform well with a motherboard that can support it. It is strange a module may be defective, but don't worry, we can have that replaced right away. Visit the G.Skill web page, complete the RMA form online, send the memory to us, and we can have a new kit out to you shortly. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your computer can be up to full speed in no time. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.
