Pros: Packaging looks nice, but wasn't about to use it.

Cons: Despite other reviews, this does NOT work with the Acer Aspire One with model D255E-2677. It may work with other models.

Other Thoughts: The PIN notch is about a centimeter off. I had to replace the keyboard anyway, so no complaint getting to the odd RAM placement.

Pros: Purchased a cheap Gatway netbook that only came with 1GB. Replace that SODIMM with this one. No problems and MUCH better performance. Don't know why they don't put 2GB in Netbooks in the first place, but this was a cheap addition and works great.

ram and HDD replacement is not for the faint of heart if your not capable of busting through the keyboard to swap the ram or the hdd then dont make purchase. with this ram being <$20 i would have paid the difference between a 1gb and 2gb in price to have the 2. acer did it on the cheap and booo to them.

anyway tons of videos on you tube showing how to upgrade you can still do it in under 10 mins.

If your looking for a nice netbook for light work or school this does the job nicely ive even been able to run heavy queries on sql2008 on this machine and it pulled me back data

but it is what it is a netbook even with 2gb dont think your running glorious dx9 games. shockwave works fine.

Pros: This is an 8 chip memory stick, thus it is compatible with the Acer Aspire One D255 (and newer D255e) using DDR3 with the Atom N550 dual core. For reference, my netbook model # is D255-1345. Got burned before trying to use a 16 chip memory stick: it won't work!

Other Thoughts: Upgrade is worth it if you intend to do more than surfing the web & all. While task mon was showing less than 800mb Gb of use, hard drive was already swapping. A 2Gb memory stick solved all that. Be aware that many "older" D255 models using the Atom single core need DDR2 memory, NOT DDR3. Thanks to the previous reviewers for guiding me to the right memory.

Pros: Works with unit I purchased it for, the Acer D255-1268 netbook. I ordered the Kingston Value RAM from that company (with the same name as a LONG RIVER in SOUTH AMERICA) with the exact same specs and the unit would not make it past the power light..yet it worked in another HP laptop I have. Put this chip in the netbook and it booted right up and showed 2GB of RAM. This is a finicky unit, but this G.Skill memory works great in it.
