Big step forward ...
- Pros: This is perfect for my needs. I'm running vista x64 with 8gb of RAM, and then running 4-5 virtual machines for different environments on top of that. I have the base OS and virtual machines running off of the SSD, and then use other esata drives for my pagefiles and working directories. Speed is great. Read speed is around 150 MB/s, and access times are extremely fast.
- Cons: It did seem like the SSD drive would slow down (almost hang) when hammering it with writes while installing various programs. But once everything was installed, the system is really fast and smooth. Access times are obviously great with the SSD vs conventional drive (consistent .2ms in HD Tune).
- Other Thoughts: If going this route, be sure to go out and look for tips to help avoid small writes to the SSD (check the ocz forum). Going forward, I hope that vendors (i.e., Microsoft, etc.) will build in settings that optimize use of SSD. But for now, it really helps to turn off some features (like indexing), as well as moving the pagefile to an alternate non-ssd drive.
Absolutely Amazing
- Pros: -Fast read, AND write
-This is twice as fast, and has double the capacity of normal SSDs, and is only half the pice. -Metal frame -Quiet -Low heat -Uses very little power
- Cons: Thickness is not included, but it is actually 9.5mm.
- Other Thoughts: I like potatoes.
Seriously, this is a great product. It shipped very quickly, and I have this running in a 15.4 inch 2.4GHz Penryn MacBook Pro
I replaced the HDD with the SSD thanks to iFixit.com.

Back up your system!
- Pros: Works most of the time when you have it going. Installed windows very quickly.
- Cons: when you hit it with numerous reads you will notice laggyness. Mine has recently failed after 36 days of usage! Everyone who owns one of these please back your info up daily!
- Other Thoughts: Since it is past 30 days newegg will not allow me to RMA it through them after spending a decent amount of money i would expect more from newegg. Now i have to deal with the horrid english speaking people of g.skill!
Thanks Newegg........

Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer Depending on which operating system you are using, it may affect the performance of the drive. For example, Windows 7 is optimzed for SSD use while older versions of XP may cause delays. Also, we have tweaks to enhance the performance of the drive. Expensive storage
- Pros: It works. Put into my Toshiba Satellite laptop and runs pretty fast. Starts up fast from log on screen to all applications loaded. Actual computer boot up to the log on screen still takes a while.
- Cons: Runs real slow and hangs if you are trying to do more than one operation at a time. ie: Multiple read or writes. Writes 700MB of 1GB in a few seconds then can take over a minute just to write the last 300MB. Have to make a lot of changes and tweaks and changes to my Vista system to try and improve the performance.
- Other Thoughts: Running Vista Home Premium 32bit. With 4GB ram. Well ~3.5GB. Loads single applications fast. But trying to do more than one read or write operation at a time can seriously slow things down and hangs.

GREAT SDD
- Pros: Popped it in my computer, loaded Windows 7 RC, and off and running. Not sure it could be much easier. I kind of looked for any directions, but didn't need them.
