5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as advertised, good memory. Will run 5-5-5-15 timings up to 1066 at least. Great for trying to get the last bit out of old 775's etc.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsF2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B (8GB)

Pros: Bringing back some life to an aging PC. :) For years had 4GB's module kit and kept putting off upgrading. The old 4GB modules were no longer avail and didn't play nice with the new 2x2 PI's. So ordered a total of 2x4 Pi 1066 kits and still working out the bells & whistles. (finger's crossed).
~G-Skill tech support is Amazing & VERY helpful~

Cons: Nothing as of yet. Hopefully resurrecting an old built without having to 'move to the new tech' just yet.

Other Thoughts: Not really a Con. Due to my intermittent knowledge (Jack of all trades, so to speak) regarding bios & settings, I'm working with the GSkill techs to get it running 'Stable!' I'm not really a heavy gamer, but do enjoy dabbling in Photo/Video editing.

Setup for the 'old workhorse':
GA-EP45-UD3P (rev. 1.0) F10 bios
Intel Core2Quad Q6600 with G0
-on the way- ZOTAC ZT-61012-10M
80GB SSD boot
1TB Veloceraptor

1 out of 5 eggsDead Ram Stick.

Pros: Good Ram Sticks, been using them on my last laptops.

I just had my G-Skills DDR2 8500 deliver to my house, pot them in and nothing. I try each stick one by one and found that one stick out of two is defective.

Cons: On the package states that they are %100 hand tested, In my opinion they are not. I inserted the sticks in and my computer didn't boot. So i try one stick at a time and found out that one stick didn't work.

My fist buy for DDR2 and they Fail, I'm really disappointed.

Now i have to send them back and exchange them for working ones and I have to wait again for them to arrive at my house.

Other Thoughts: Just bothers me that it says they are %100 hand tested, well i think they have to check twice before releasing them for sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Customer Service

Pros: I bought 2 of these kits for a total of 8gb, but I had a problem at first getting these dual channel kits to work at 1066 and getting my Bios to see all 8gb, but after contacting G-Skill's Tech support, the kits are up and running at full speed. The tech support department at G-Skill went above and beyond to help me set this memory up on my computer. I would not hesitate in the future to pick G-Skill again!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Installed no problem, booted right up. Smaller heat sinks than the replaced OCZ ram (1 of 4 sticks failed). Now have 4G with 2 sticks instead of 4.

Cons: None yet

4 out of 5 eggsmemtest failure

Pros: Reasonable price for DDR2 1066

Cons: First pair had a stick that failed MemTest consistantly, RMA'd for new pair.

Other Thoughts: New pair seems to work fine and runs at 1066 on my AMD 790X board with no bios tweek needed.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly as advertised

Pros: I've done a fair bit of comparing the cost of building another PC vs just upgraing my old nVidia 750 board with the Intel Core2Quad Q6600, and I decided to simply doube the ram (from 4Gb to 8Gb), switch to a SSD, and buy another 9800 GT Graphics & simply SLI the two.

Prior to doing anything else, I upgraded the RAM and did notice an immediate performance boost when gaming on one screen & performing other misc. tasks on another screen. Any typical tasks which are RAM hungry (ie multiple programs going at once) enjoy the additional RAM.

Cons: Cost: For about the same price I could have bought double the amount (8Gb) of DDR3, but that would also involve buying a new mobo, cpu, graphics...you get the point. It is pricey RAM but I'm hoping it lasts a few more years.

Other Thoughts: All in all I ended up spending about $275 in upgrades (almost $70 for this RAM, $140 for a 240Gb SSD, and $50 for a used 9800 GT graphics card) but the performance improvements on my almost-5-year-old machine are incredible. I no longer play the latest & greatest games so I'm guessing this most recent upgrade will last me another 2-3 years. Well worth the cost.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Popped it right in, booted right up. 4 sticks running at 400mhz ea on auto. The heat sinks are nice, light, smaller than my old ocz reaper series and are quite effective.
I paid the extra price for 3 day shipping because I'm buying these to replace an old dying 4 gig kit, and I made my order Sunday and received my ram Tuesday morning, made the three day price well worth it because it ended up over night, all this on Christmas eve. great product and once again thanks newegg

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sorry, no PROS yet.

Cons: There are no CONS either.

Other Thoughts: The PROS and the CONS are and are not what they are simply because I have not received what I ordered. Maybe it will get here NEXT Christmas. Stay tuned... just don't hold your breath. This was ordered on Dec. 1st. Got a tracking number... and that was IT! They do not update the status of one's order... so why then, issue a tracking number?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience. Unfortunately, we do not have control over NewEgg's shipping and orders department so you will need to contact them directly for a status update. Your patience is greatly appreciated during the holiday season. The item should arrive shortly. Once you receive it, install it and configure settings in BIOS, the computer should be very fast and stable. If you have any questions or need help setting up the RAM, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be more than glad to help.

Happy Holidays!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Bought 4 sticks for a total of 8 gbs. PC recognized all 4 sticks and booted right up. went in bios and changed the voltage to 2.05v..motherboard seemed to run it at 1.80v. have these installed on gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p board with Q9650 processor. this is an older setup but plenty fast enough for me. glad to see you can still by premium ddr2 memory..

Cons: are you kidding, this is great ram...
