5 out of 5 eggsWoot Trident RAM

Pros: This RAM has lasted entire time I have owned system 9/9/2009. Runs at 1866 with no issues at all. I never felt the need to increase to 2000. One of best RAM experiences I have and now point people to G.SKILL.

Cons: No way No how.

5 out of 5 eggsworth every penny

Pros: runs at spec 9-9-9-24-74-1T at +350 vtt 1.6 vdimm on a evga classified 760 motherboard. I am able to reach higher Gflops then I did with previous brand and run at 2100Mhz speeds with a i7 930 at 4.0-4.4GHz
great overclocker

Cons: didn't come with the g.skill ram fan, but the ram stays cool

Other Thoughts: just going from another brand @1600Mhz to this at 2100Mhz increased my 3D vantage mark by 3,000 points in performance mode.

3 out of 5 eggsNice performance - but couldn't get 2000 though.

Pros: I was able to get 1904Mhz out of these, but couldn't get much higher.

Cons: Even with DIMM Voltage at 1.64v and QPI/PLL voltage up to 1.45V I had no luck at 2000Mhz, 1904Mhz was the fastest I found stable. Someone suggested 1.65 QPI voltage, but that deeply into the red on my motherboard and I'm not willing to push things until they blow up.

Notably I have two sets of these, so 6*2GB, so perhaps that adds to the challenge, but none the less, 2000Mhz either with XMP or not would blue screen.

Other Thoughts: Seems like a good cooling solution, they keep reasonably cool, however, the tall coolers were a problem with my CPU cooler's fan, which I had to shave down to make it fit.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are unable to reach DDR3-2000. If your system is stable at DDR3-1904 with QPI Voltage 1.45V, it should only need 1.50V for DDR3-2000. When attempting high memory frequency, it is imperative to find the precise voltage for the memory controller (QPI). The memory controller becomes overloaded when reaching high frequency, or utilizing full slots, so a voltage boost is necessary in these cases to stabilize the system.

Since you are limiting QPI Voltage to 1.45V, you are limiting memory frequency as well. The memory frequency can only go up as high as the amount of QPI Voltage you supply it. If you have an aftermarket CPU cooler, you should have no problems with a 1.50V-1.60V QPI Voltage.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great at 1066mhz

Pros: No errors. Runs very smoothly just at 1066mhz on my P6X58D-E mobo with i7 930. I definitely Rec. this product!
G-skill is 1 for 1 so far! Keep it up but...

Cons: I tried XMP once so far since I was pleased with specs of it "underclocked" but it wouldnt boot.

Other Thoughts: I was under the impression that with XMP set it would overclock the cpu too.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns up to specs and a little over

Pros: runs at listed specs: 2000MHz 9-9-9-24
not too warm either
nice looking design

Cons: The fins might stick up too high for some peoples CPU coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: This RAM is fast and versatile. It works with XMP at 9-9-9-24 @ 2000 mhz, as described. I run it at 7-7-7-20 @ 1531 mhz with my i930 overclocked to 4.01 ghz on my ASUS P6X58D-E mobo without any problems whatsoever.

Cons: I guess all RAM that has a tall heatsink can be a problem if you want to use certain high-end aircoolers and you also want to fill up the RAM slot closest to your CPU. Not a problem if you don't need to use the first slot. (My mobo uses the 2, 4, 6th slots so I can use a big air cooler like the Corsair A70).

Other Thoughts: My system:

i930 @ 4.01 Ghz w/ HT
ASUS P6X58D-E mobo
Corsair A70 CPU cooler
Corsair 850HX PSU
G.Skill Trident 6GB DDR3 2000

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as Advertised

Pros: Excellent Ram, works as advertised. 9-9-9-24 @ 2002MHz on a X58A-UD3R w/ i7 930.

Cons: I wish "Turbulence" came with it

Other Thoughts: Some people have issues reaching the advertised speeds. I was doubtful at first, but nonetheless it worked in the end. G.Skill's support site has a list of 8 voltages to set, (QPI) etc. - That might work for some, not for me. (I really wish it would!) However, it was more simple in the end for me, anyway.

All I did was enable the XMP profile1, and increase the DRAM voltage to 1.6480. Been playing Mass Effect and World In Conflict all day, completely stable.
