2 out of 5 eggsReturn Options.

Pros: Great if both Worked.

Cons: Both Sticks did not work.

Other Thoughts: Pretty much my only question is, How would I go about getting a replacement for a stick that was DOA and also Would I have to send both sticks back or just the one?

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We apologize for the inconvenience. It is strange a module was not working as expected. Send the memory in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawlessly. Each kit is pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed from factory, so it is best to return the entire kit so we can send you a new kit back. If down time is of concern, purchase another kit to use then you can return this one for a refund. Once you receive a new kit, enable XMP/DOCP or manually input settings for the RAM, then the system should run at full speed. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

2 out of 5 eggsEh

Pros: One Stick Worked.

Cons: One Did Not..

Other Thoughts: Just a quick question.. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I put it both RAM sticks, I've tried dual channel and single and it still only uses one Stick. When I look in the BIOS under computer browser, It recognizes the stick displaying it's name, speed and everything else. But it fails the Memory test at start up and does not get used.. I tried switching out to different Slots, and doing even one stick at a time, and as I said. One stick works fine, the second stick my computer beeps and won't fully boot unless I have both in and it just uses the one good stick. How would I go about getting a replacement and do I need to send both back or just the one Not working?

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Sounds like that second module is not working properly. Send the entire memory kit in for RMA exchange and we will have a new one out to you immediately. Once you receive the replacement, configure settings for the RAM in BIOS/EFI, then the system should be fast and smooth. This is one of the most popular memory kits ever as it provides good gaming performance at a low price. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsl suffix means low

Pros: no pros now

Cons: the L suffix on g skill memory means low quility chips used

Other Thoughts: heres what i got on this from g skill support

Dear Customer

Yes, doesn't mean L is low quality, it just means the chips is not as good as other ones like M and H. --- [so what part of not as good as other ones do i not understand as low quility??]

In general, lower latency is better if the frequency and voltage is also the same, so you will notice that with the different letters.

H will have best timings like DDR3-1600 CL7, M will have 7 or 8, and L will have 9 or 10.

L RAM is still better than standard, it is great for gaming, but extreme overclockers typically prefer H because they need maximum frequency and performance.

[ what part of this newegg overview did i miss?? First-Class Quality
Developed to support new high-performance platforms, G.Skill DDR3 memory modules are equipped with cutting-edge memory technologies to ensure an extreme user experience, whether for daily applications or gaming. The G.Skill system memory is 100% tested to ensure top-level product yield and quality.] and this from there website on this L memory
''Chosen By Overclockers

Enthusiasts’ choice can’t be wrong. Building on the world-class performance and overclockability, G.SKILL RipjawsX series memory has been voted as the Best Memory Series by the community of the overclockers in 2011! no thank you gskill for putting some light on this

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can clarify your confusion. L does not mean low quality chips are used. In fact, generally the same chips are used, but the rated specifications are different. If you have not noticed, XL models are CL9, XM models are CL8, and XH models are CL7. All G.Skill memory modules can be overclocked, there is no such thing as low quality chips being used. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsBulky Form factor

Pros: It's RAM and it's a good deal

Cons: Heat sink is too bulky and is in the way of my aftermarket heatsink. This shows that the company cares more about form than function.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price. This is one of the most popular memory kits as it provides fast gaming performance. The heat spreaders are 38mm tall, so they are taller than standard, but they will fit most aftermarket CPU coolers. Double check that your system can fit this RAM, or you can always purchase a standard size module or the G.Skill Ares series to avoid any possible clearance issues. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsSince 2011. Still awesome.

Pros: I've got a pair of these sets and...frankly, they're awesome. They handle everything I've thrown at them and I've avoided any and all issues over the past few years of very nearly 24/7 use.

I'm honestly kind of surprised they've lasted this long. Definitely a quality product.

Cons: Nothing! Though I wish I could fit another 8 GB of these in my system.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's RAM

Pros: works.
looks like cool robot dog teeth.

Cons: tall

Other Thoughts: In my experience, Ram either works or it doesn't. I bought the same brand last year for another gaming rig. Seems the best value. Passed 10 minutes of Memtest86 then I got bored. When I received it the heat spreader was falling off one stick, but I just needed to press it back together and then the tape seemed to permanently hold it. There's usually no problem with adding height via these heat spreader's but just be wary if you're working in a very confined space. It still fit fine in my Mini-ITX project.
