Welcome to a new level of PC performance with G.SKILL Ripjaws Series memory. Your computer will never be the same with 4GB of high-density DDR3 1600 SDRAM spread over two DIMMs. Eliminate data bottlenecks by taking advantage of multi-channel technology and multiplying your memory bandwidth. Ripjaws Series memory is designed specifically to complement Core i7 processors, the P55 Express Chipset and AMD AM3 platform. Optimized for speed, low latency and high stability, Ripjaws Series memory is the perfect solution to faster programs and quicker load times.
Heat management is always important for any PC builder and enthusiast. G.SKILL understands this concern, which is why each Ripjaws Series DIMM comes with a stylish comb-like design heat-spreader, which dissipates heat by exposing it to cool air over a greater surface area and will look great in any case. These DIMMs also operate at a cool 1.5V for better internal temperatures and overclocking versatility. Upgrade your PC with raw power and own G.SKILL Ripjaws Series memory today!

Great RAM, good match for i7 860
- Pros: Low Voltage requirement. Works great with my i7 860 in a Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2.
Others have complained that these only run at 1333MHz when installed. That's true. But it's the motherboard's "problem", not the RAM's. You have to make change in BIOS to override the motherboard defaults.
Read your motherboard specs. If you are using the newest intel platform (P55 chipset, socket 1156) and an i5 750 you may have to overclock your CPU to get the RAM to run faster than 1333MHz. Possibly with an i7 860, too, although Gigabyte opens a 12x memory multiplier that allows you to up the RAM without affecting the processor speed.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: Using an i7 860 in my Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 motherboard, I can select the 12x System Memory Multiplier to get this running at 1600. My understanding is with an i5 750 on most boards, there is no 12x multiplier. So you have to change the speed of your CPU to get 1600MHz. I also tested by turning on XMP. That worked fine.
My advice: If you have a P55/1156 motherboard and are not comfortable making changes in BIOS or if you have a 750, consider 1333 RAM with tighter timings (such as CL7).
Add'l comments: I noticed once I started playing with RAM settings I lost Turbo, until I made BIOS changes on the Advanced CPU Core Features page: Intel Turbo Boost Tech. - changed from Auto to Enabled CPU Cores Enabled - left as All CPU Multi-Threading - left as Enabled CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) - from Auto to Enabled C3/C6/C7 State Support - from Auto to Enabled CPU Thermal Monitor - from Auto to Enabled CPU EIST Function - from Auto to Enabled Bi-Directional PROCHOT - from Auto to Enabled
- Pros: I used this RAM for my first build with an Asus M4A79XTD EVO and it works great. The board defaults the speed to 1333, but it's easy enough to change. Even running at 1333 it got a 7.5 rating from Win7.
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: I chose this RAM based largely on the lack of reported problems with G.Skill memory. I could have saved a little money and taken my chances with another brand, but I'm glad I didn't.

- Pros: One stick of the 2x2gb set is still working extremely well on my Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 Mobo paired with an Intel i5 750. The second stick was physically flawed. Gave me memory management BSODs. In the process of RMA with Newegg now. No questions asked, I'm very happy with the support I've gotten from Newegg and G.Skill on this issue. Still beating the performance of my old 4gb of DDR2.
- Cons: The cardboard background in the packaging said every stick was thoroughly tested for errors, not saying they're lairs, but mistakes happen.
- Other Thoughts: I'll leave 5 stars once I get a second stick of RAM, I'm very happy with the performance of my single stick. Can't even get it to 100% usage on Batman Arkham Asylum, GTA 4, NFSS, WoW, and the other dozen PC games I play.
The DIY combo with this RAM was a very good buy. Thanks Newegg!
Sold memory at a good price
- Pros: These seem to be very reliable sticks... I've got them running in an Asus p7p55 Pro aith an I5-750 and I'm currently at 4GHZ.
- Cons: None really.
- Other Thoughts: I picked these up on sale and saved $20 off normal, and that price these are a steal.
Great RAM
- Pros: Great RAM for its price. Runs fast and at the speed it says it's supposed to (DDR3 1600).
- Cons: None at all. Works like it's supposed to.
- Other Thoughts: For people that are getting BSOD, be sure you're supplying at least 1.5V to the RAM. I was getting BSOD over and over because I was supplying 1.48V to the RAM to begin with.
