5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Memory arrived in good packaging and worked just fine once installed. I had previously ordered a different set not realizing that the timing was an issue, and this one matched my motherboards timing just right. All 8 gigs are recognized by windows 7 and pass all memory tests. The heat spreaders seem solid and I am sure they will hold up to some heavy usage.

Cons: Price could be lower, but I guess that is the cost of high performance memory with the proper timing to fit my board.

Other Thoughts: Check your timing in the motherboard bios to make sure you can accept a certain set of memory sticks before you purchase. I learned the hard way so you don't have to!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome DDR2

Pros: DDR2 for older systems
8GB (2x4GB)
5-5-5-15 CAS
Quality heat spreaders
Life time warranty!!!
I have these installed on an ASRock A785GM-LE MB and they fit fine. This is a mATX with very little space between the processor and the mem slots. I had an old pair of OCZ with huge heat spreaders. Between them pushing into each other and the CPU heat spreader leaning them over I was just waiting for something to blow. These DDR2's heat spreaders are thinner, and I believe, do a better job at cooling. The best part is they aren't pushing into each other or being leaned over by a CPU cooler! I couldn't be happier with my selection!

Cons: Price. But that's somewhat understandable. Every man has his price I suppose. Other than that nothing thus far.

Other Thoughts: Really great memory! I notice a huge difference between this and just 2GB. I was contemplating on the 4GB set, but, decided to go big to make my rig a little more "future proof". After approximately 6 months I'll try some OC'ing. As an ending note, for those of you who care about this sort of thing. The heat spreaders are actually more of a cobalt or sapphire. The display pictures makes it appear more violet and a little brighter. I think they look cool for how deep the color is.

2 out of 5 eggsToo Expensive

Pros: Its G-Skill Ram, and Newegg rocks.
For less then this price. I bought a new AM3 Plus Gigabyte Motherboard. $109.99 Bought 8 Gigs G-Skill 1600mhz DDR3 $43.99 This new Ram has fantastic reviews and is the bomb in Ram. Save your money! Great Upgrade, Plus ram is less then 1/3 DDR2 is, and its much faster then this stuff. (:

Cons: $174.00 for this Ram. DDR3 1600 Same Gigs and faster. $43.99. New Gigabyte motherboard $109.99. Need I say more?

Other Thoughts: I hope I can help people get more out of their systems and if your going to dish out this money for this Ram? Why not just Upgrade your systems for less. :P

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Unfortunately we do not control pricing, DRAM pricing is based on global supply and demand, it is like a commodity that is actively traded. 4GB modules of DDR2 is rare, which is why it is reflected in pricing. We agree with you as well, it is much cheaper to build a DDR3 system, and it is faster, so that is surely a cost effective solution over upgrading an older DDR2 system. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsEXCELLENT

Pros: Excellent. I have this running in a biostar 870 chipset AM2+/am3 board coupled with a phenomIIx4 965 BE oc'd easily to 1066 no problems, and is very stable. Got it to go along with a radeon 7850 GPU and 850w PSU to keep this thing running modern games for another year or so, Just wanting to give socket FM1 some time to mature and get the bugs (if there are any) worked out before I rebuild my gaming rig with a FM1 system. So far I am not disappointed. This thing blazes through anything I throw at it no problem.

Cons: price, but it's still cheaper than rebuilding my system to make use of DDR3

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this ram. Normally I buy OCZ or Mushkin so I was leary of buying this memory at first. (had bad experiences with gskill in the past), bit I took a chance and bought it anyway, and I'm glad I did.

GET THIS MEMORY, You'll be glad you did.

5 out of 5 eggsDynamite comes in small packages

Pros: Went from 6GB to 12GB Huge improvement in game load time!

Cons: One stick was slightly bent. Installed and works, so i guess thats no big deal.
Sent in an envelope. :(
I would suggest to ship in a box. That would reduce the chance of a bent stick.

Other Thoughts: Price $ "you get what you pay for"

3 out of 5 eggs$160 - one stick works, one doesn't

Pros: 8gb

Cons: *title and 'other thoughts'

Other Thoughts: It happens.

I know G.skill make great products, I've purchased 3 kits from them in the past year. Unfortunately, 2 of those 3 kits were defective, including this one.

The real bummer is now I have to wait at least another week before receiving a replacement and I really need this ram now...

...it's not certain the replacement kit will work either...

I'll amend my review once I receive the replacement. I hope it's for the best.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please send it in for RMA and a replacement should work much better. All G.Skill memory packages are backed by a lifetime guarantee for these types of situations. For whatever reason your memory is dead on arrival or becomes defective after a couple days, weeks, or years of use, we will exchange it with a new replacement without question. If you have any questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be glad to assist you.
