Welcome to a new level of PC performance with G.SKILL Ripjaws Series memory. Your computer will never be the same with 4GB of high-density DDR3 1600 SDRAM spread over two DIMMs. Eliminate data bottlenecks by taking advantage of multi-channel technology and multiplying your memory bandwidth. Ripjaws Series memory is designed specifically to complement Core i7 processors and the X58 Express Chipset. Optimized for speed, low latency and high stability, Ripjaws Series memory is the perfect solution to faster programs and quicker load times.
Heat management is always important for any PC builder and enthusiast. G.SKILL understands this concern, which is why each Ripjaws Series DIMM comes with a stylish comb-like design heat-spreader, which dissipates heat by exposing it to cool air over a greater surface area and will look great in any case. These DIMMs also operate at a cool 1.6V for better internal temperatures and overclocking versatility. Upgrade your PC with raw power and own G.SKILL Ripjaws Series memory today!

Tremendous memory
- Pros: For everyone with a decent AMD motherboard and not terrified of entering BIOS to adjust settings this memory delivers more then advertised. Right now it is delivering 7-8-7-18 timings set at 1.65 volts (within the memories stated operating range of 1.6-1.65 volts at a speed of 1666 Mhz. I have not tried to squeeze this memory for any higher output...yet. Another big bonus with this memory is it runs at 1.6-1.65 volts and not the 1.9-1.95 blazing hot voltage of other high performance memory.
- Cons: This chip is optimized and advertised for Intell i7 so it is not surprising that AMD motherboard BIOS does not initialize this RAM properly. If memory serves the first settings I got were as 1333 speed latencies of 11 at 1.5 volts. You have to make your own adjustments in BIOS for AMD boards. This is a con for inexperienced builders not comfortable with adjusting BIOS settings. It's not a fault of the chip however, it state clearly that it is designed for the new Intel high end chips.
- Other Thoughts: Do your research. If you are new to computer assembly buy RAM that is specifically designed for AMD. It will give you less bang for your dollar but more performance then this chip will if left to be automatically set up by your BIOS. Left unadjusted this chip is more of an anchor then a sail. Adjusted, however, it becomes the best value out there for an high performance AMD system.

Not designed for my system
- Pros: This memory kit is a great value and would perform quite well on INTEL machines. I also think it looks pretty neat.
- Cons: In my new Windows 7 system, with a Phenom II 965 140W and ASUS M4A79XTD EVO, this memory booted up fine at first. However, it performed at only 1333 speeds rather than 1600. This wasn't a big deal to me and was something I could live with. However, I turned off the PC overnight and when I started it the next morning it kept rebooting before getting to the log-in screen. I ran Memtest86 and within 20 minutes I already had 2048 errors from this RAM. I decided then that this memory was not suited for my system.
- Other Thoughts: Obviously, as I had read from other people here, this memory is not fit to run with this setup. I returned it and got a different memory kit that works fine. This is nothing against G.Skill, however, since they say it is designed for Intel.

Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. This memory package is designed for Intel specifications, but it can work for AMD platforms. On most AMD motherboards, the rated specifications of this particular memory package can not be reached due to BIOS limitations (Unable to operate DDR3-1600 CL7). AMD users will need to use 8-8-8-24 timings instead of the rated 7-8-7-24 for Intel platforms. Memory voltage 1.60V and memory frequency DDR3-1600 can remain the same. Everything should work fine then. If you have any further questions or issues, please feel free to let us know. Thank you GSKILL SUPPORT Quality and customer service are our top priorities. - Pros: screaming fast!!! nice blue color, running cool too, win 7 rated it at 6.6
- Cons: Take alot of messing with timer and voltage to get it to works stable at 1600mhz. Finally got it runing at 8-8-24-2T @ 1.60 v or 1.65v both voltage setting are stable so i choose the lower one to run
Looking good
- Pros: - No problems after 3 months of moderately strenuous use (Windows 7, gaming, Prime 95 here and there)
- Good combo deal at the time...
- Cons: - Nadda
- Other Thoughts: Works great with the AsRock P55 Extreme and i5 750. I can't speak to overclocking it, but I'm pretty content with the performance out of the box so far.
- Pros: does the job for more than just i5/i7 systems. Used it with an AMD AthlonII X4 620 + ATI 785G chipset.
- Cons: RAM is so expensive now days, but that's in general not a knock against this kit.
