We will be glad to help with this issue. If memory becomes defective over time, send them in for RMA exchange and a new kit will work much better. All G.Skill memory kits are backed by a manufacturer lifetime, so you can rest assured your computer will have good working RAM for life. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. Once you receive the new memory, make sure settings are configured properly and the RAM should be fast and reliable. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: I have heard about G.SKILL Ripjaws for a very very long time, but I never wanted to buy that flashy glamorous ram, because I thought you were paying for looks.

I got lucky and these were the cheapest in what I was looking for, and they arrived in great condition and have provided me 0 issues at all.

To the employee at G.SKILL that reads newegg reviews, I apologize I didn't give you guys a try sooner!

1 out of 5 eggsi5 processor not compatible?

Pros: Looks good
Highly competitive price point
Generally quality RAM from a reputable provider who I have used in the past.

Cons: This product indicates that it is "compatible with i5 processors." This does not appear to actually be the case. I swapped from an intel i3 to a i5 3550. Made no changes other than the processor and received an immediate DRAM redlight which only went away when I swapped back to the i3. After an evening on my laptop researching the issue and trying various combinations I was unable to find a work around to get me into the BIOS.

If there is a work around for this I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Other Thoughts: I feel bad giving this product a 1 as it occupies a competitive price point and is otherwise a strong product. However, there appear to be, at best, some omissions regarding its compatibility.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi John

Glad to hear you like the design of the RipJaws series RAM; it is the most popular on NewEgg. This memory kit is compatible with Intel Core i5 processors, but there are many other factors that can affect overall compatibility. When a strange problem like this happens, always check for the latest BIOS/EFI. Firmware updates are frequently released to improve compatibility, so that is the first thing to check and make sure you have the up-to-date version with all revisions. If the memory worked fine with the i3 CPU, there is nothing wrong with the RAM. You may need a CPU code update for the i5. Once that is complete, the RAM should work flawlessly with the i5 processor. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsLikely Acceptable

Pros: All-round good stats for price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't think it is compatible with F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ (DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 1.5v). I'm getting BSOD on startup. I've installed this DRAM and removed my old set for now and the OS boots fine. But I was really hoping to use both for 12GB.

5 out of 5 eggsStill loving G.Skill

Pros: [-] 3 years running and not a hiccup.

Cons: [-] Sure wish they were the price they are now (roughly 55% of the price I paid back then), but, Newegg was the cheapest at the time I bought it, so, that's the way technology goes and we all know that. The only "con" is seeing what they go for now opposed to what I paid. LOL. It is what it is. No cons with the memory.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and solid

Pros: -Great price and awesome performance
-Easily enough memory for multitasking applications, running games or doing a lot of memory intensive tasks

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: You probably don't need 16GB or 32 GB of RAM with today's technology, so go with this bad boy and save some dough!
