2 out of 5 eggsDied after 3 years

Pros: I had no complaints when it worked

Cons: One of the sticks died after less than 3 years of moderate use.

Other Thoughts: G.Skill offers "Life Time Warranty" on this product but they require the customer to pay for the shipping. Also, they require that you package the item very nicely in anti-static wrap and bubble wrap. The whole warranty process seems like a huge hassle.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory kit has been working for 3 years. If a module has failed, don't worry, send it in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work much better. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so you can receive a replacement in no time. It is not required that the RAM is packaged nicely in anti-static or bubble wrap, those are general suggestions of the ideal method. As long as the RAM is not physically damaged and the warranty sticker is intact, it is covered by the G.Skill manufacturer lifetime warranty. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

4 out of 5 eggsWas going to be great...

Pros: Looks cool
Low CAS latency if your BIOS allows

Cons: The CAS latency has to be set manually in the BIOS. There were no instructions included with the RAM so I had to Email support to find out about this. My motherboard's BIOS is probably one of the most cut down and restricted ones around so I was unable to change the CAS latency of this RAM.

Other Thoughts: Due to my motherboard's BIOS being a joke, I have two cool looking sticks of RAM that perform no better than my previous sticks, leaving me with 16GB of CAS 11 RAM.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you like the appearance of the RAM. This is one of the most popular memory kits on NewEgg due to it's sleek design, high performance, and affordable price. For DDR3-1600 CL9, an aftermarket motherboard is necessary. Pre-built computers such as Dell and HP can not support RAM that is better than standard. The BIOS is locked which is the reason you were unable to alter timing settings. In the future, should you decide to build your own system, then you will be able to fully unleash the performance of G.Skill RAM. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Not super expensive I bought 2 of these for 16gb ram.

Cons: A little big, I installed these on the maximusVII hero board, When i went to install the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on the cpu, the "fan" portion was on top of the 1st stick of ram, so the fan is slighty raised which isnt optimal for the CPU cooler. jsut keep in mind the size of the ram when installing a cpu cooler.

Other Thoughts: I didnt mind that the fan was off by a quarter inch. but others might have problems.
