1 out of 5 eggsNever buying G.Skill again.

Pros: Low cost, good RAM if you don't get a defective stick.

Cons: Con #1) Bought two packs, one stick was dead on arrival. By the time I had the parts to finally assemble the PC that would house the RAM, Newegg's grace period had expired and I had to depend on G.Skill's RMA process instead.

Con #2) When I called up G'Skill, they were very unhelpful, and G.Skill's support staff was very condescending. For that reason alone, I will stop buying G.Skill products. There are plenty of competitors.

Other Thoughts: I needed to RMA an EVGA video card from the same build (fan problem.) I called them up, and EVGA had set up a cross-shipment for me in less than 10 minutes, all while remaining on the phone with me to make sure all issues had been addressed. Quite professional and respectful.

G.Skill - you might want to take note.

5 out of 5 eggsEco Friendly

Pros: Nice eco friendly product, well supported by major motherboards, fast and low power usage for eco friendly computer.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: some motherboards don't support 1.35v so be careful on your purchase. I suggest doing some research before purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: -Low profile
-7 cycle latency
-Less power consumption if you're into that

Cons: A little more expensive

Other Thoughts: I bought this set instead of the equivalent Ripjaws (of which I already have a set) because of the low profile. These *barely* fit under the fan on my CPU cooler. I'm running these at 1.5 volts with a clock of about 700MHz. Unfortunately that's a decrease for me. With only the Ripjaws I was able to get a 750Mhz stable clock.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST and STABLE

Pros: This is the CAS7 version, there is a cheaper CAS8 version. I made the right choice.

Low voltage (though I'm running mine at 1.5). timings set at 7.7.7.15.2t @1333 (7.7 WEI if you care). Went in and got to work immediately, no hiccups. Paired this with a 955 and an intel SSD, and cold boot to idle desktop takes about 12 seconds, nothing slows these babies down.

I wouldn't recommend OC'ing these past 1333, just tighten the timings @ or slightly below MR and you'll get all the speed you need.

G-Skill is the only ram I buy. Choose wisely (like this item), and G-skill will blow you away. They make fantastic ram. I still have some DDR2 from years ago that run beautifully.

Cons: Not as flashy looking as some of the others, but then, it is low profile enough to fit under even the more aggressive cpu coolers.

Other Thoughts: My rig:

MSI 890FXA-GD65
AMD 955BE (C3) @4.0
G.Skill ECO 4gb (7.7.7.15.2t @1333)
Intel 320 Series 120gb SSD
Zalmann 9900 MAX 135mm
Corsair 750w
XFX 5830 1gb
xclio A380

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Modules. Great support

Pros: Great timings, and low voltage. Exactly what i wanted.

Cons: One of the modules failed after 2/3 months of use.

Other Thoughts: Gskill replaced both modules, even though only one failed to assure compatibility between the modules.
I would have given it 5 eggs if one module had not failed after 2/3 months use.
Gskill support were great and replaced it immediately without any problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory

Pros: - Low voltage. The great thing about this memory is that 1.35 volts translates into way less heat than comparable modules that need 1.65 volts to get the same timings. (Power is proportional to the square of voltage, so these use 33% less power and generate 33% less heat than competing modules.) After running a set of 1.65V modules that I could barely touch after running the system for a while, I now truly appreciate how much of a difference that makes. These modules barely get lukewarm after hours of intensive use (Prime95, etc).
- Good timings.
- Cheap. They're maybe $5-10 more than 1.65V modules with the same timings (normal prices, not sale/rebate prices). Maybe less depending on when exactly you look. For the heat difference that's well worth paying.

Cons: Could not get to 6-6-6 timings@1333 even with upping the voltage to 1.65. Would have been nice to do so, but I'm not really disappointed they didn't.

Eco marketing. These sticks might (if you're running Prime95 24/7) save you 4W an hour, which is 35 kWHr a year. Or ~$4 in electricity cost. Not going to save the environment anywhere near as effectively as getting a more efficient CPU, PSU, GPU, giving up meat once a week, turning down the heat in your house by .1 degree, etc. My one regret with this memory is not being able to give it 4 1/2 stars just for the sliminess of this marketing. (I can't give it 4 stars because it is *great* memory and it does everything I want for the reasons I purchased it.)

Other Thoughts: Works great with in triple channel setup. Running 6 sticks (12 GB) on an Asus Rampage III Formula with an i7 950. Worked flawlessly once I manually set the voltage and timings. (Defaulted to 8-8-8-something and 1.5V.)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Received everything a day after purchase, easy to install and works great, rebuilt entire PC and with the help of Newegg it was an awesome experience. Would highly recommend.

Cons: Honestly got a email saying payment was declined, called next day (ordered after business hours) and was told it was on it's way look for confirmation e mail. otherwise no probs, that wasn't even really a problem.

1 out of 5 eggsOne Module Failed after 4 Months

Pros: The RAM worked as advertised for the first few months; after that, one of the modules failed. When both modules worked, they were error-free in Memtest86+. Failures can happen, and I am aware of this, so I feel obligated to drop this review to 1 egg because of the current result of the RMA process with G.Skill (see the cons). I consider the warranty to be a part of the product's rating, as a failure can leave someone with a useless product when its warranty falls short.

Cons: I would have probably given this memory 4/5 eggs, even with a dead module, had I not have received a questionable replacement module from the RMA process. You would think that after a reported defective module has been confirmed to be defective on the manufacturer's end during the RMA process they would ensure the module that they are sending as a replacement is faultless at the advertised specifications; however, this did not seem to be the case for me. Perhaps I am just unlucky, but the replacement module I received caused BSODs and all sorts of artifacts after installing it and attempting to run it at the advertised timings. Relaxing the timings did not seem to help much (I did not seem to BSOD right away, but there were still strange things happening while the OS was running). Upon running Memtest86+ against both of the modules (the original/known to be good module and the replacement module) individually and in the same slot, I consistently saw errors with the replacement module.

Other Thoughts: For now, I am back down to one module from this set until I can complete another RMA to try to resolve this issue. On the bright side, I still have one module working as described. Regardless, because of the time wasted and the shipping costs for RMA, I am becoming increasingly disappointed with G.Skill. Good luck, if you purchase this set; hopefully my situation is the minority.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear the memory is not working properly. With the rated specifications input in BIOS, you should have no problems. It is odd that the replacement was bad; please request to have the memory tested and we will make sure the memory you receive is in good working condition. If you continue to have issues and need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. We will determine the problem, solve it, and make sure your computer operating smoothly.
