5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Amazing timings, reliability, price

Cons: Discontinued

Other Thoughts: I've had these sticks for years and they've kept up even when used for "hardcore" gaming

5 out of 5 eggsFast, reliable memory from G.Skill

Pros: - Very reliable
- Very stable for overclocking
- Low voltage
- Runs well with just plug and play
- Very fast timming
- Cool design for people who mod their desktops

Cons: - Expansive for the amount of memory you are getting

Other Thoughts: This is the second set I have purchased for my i7 desktop.
All 12 gb are running at 7-8-7-24 timming without over clocking.
Very stable and reliable even when I run my desktop in "overclock" or "turbo" mode.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: *easy XMP profile
*works great at specified timings

Cons: *heat shrouds are high so check your CPU cooler clearance

Other Thoughts: work as advertised, and the con isn't really a con just a heads up.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Longer would recommend this product

Pros: Memory is fast and easy to set up. I bought a set almost a year ago and all 3 sticks worked great and I have not had any problems with them at all. This was not the case for the set I bought about 6 months later.(See Below)

Cons: Once the price of this memory dropped I decided to pick up another set to bring my system up to 12gb's. The first set I got had 2 bad memory modules in them so I RMA'd the pack. I Tested them in multiple slots in multiple configurations. The next set that I received from Newegg after my first RMA was just as dissapointing. Atleast one of the 3 sticks is not funtioning at all and the other is riddled with errors and usually is not even recognized on boot. My 3 old sticks of memory all work perfectly but the new batches seem to have some major flaws. I have seen several other people complaining about the same thing just on this site.

Other Thoughts: If you had of asked me 6 months ago if I liked this memory and would recommend it to a friend my answer would have been yes without thinking twice. Now I doubt that I will purchase any of their memory in the future which is a shame because I have bought from G.Skill for atleast 12 other systems in the past.

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. Please make sure you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard. There has been many changes to DRAM modules, so an update may be necessary to improve compatibility with the new type. Also, make sure to configure DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage in BIOS. If problem persists, you may need to exchange them for a 12GB kit. It can be difficult to mix-match seperate memory kits especially from much different production dates. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact the G.Skill support team directly. They can troubleshoot and make sure 12GB is working properly in your system.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Doing what they are supposed to. They look really nice with the large heat sinks, and they fit into my NZXT Nemesis case without a problem.

Cons: None to speak of.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Fast, Stable and Easy Overclocker

Pros: I bought this kit last year for my personal system and it's run flawlessly ever since. Very easy to overclock and very stable.

Cons: The only con here is the price, this 6GB kit is more expensive than a lot of 12GB kits... Then again, you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I build PCs for a living and tend to focus on gaming systems so I have quite a bit of build experience with many different brands and G-Skill is my favorite. I've been using G-Skill for about 5 years now and they have never failed to impress. Always fast, always stable and I've yet to have a G-Skill module fail to overclock... or fail in general.

My personal PCs:

GAMING:

SILVERSTONE RV02B (Raven 2)
CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 PSU
Intel i-7 950@4.2GHz
ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58
6GB G-Skill PI series DDR3 1600
eVGA GTX570
G.SKILL Phoenix Pro Series 60GB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD
Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB HDD

Home Theater PC: (old gaming rig)

Antec P180 Tower
PC Power&Cooling 700w PSU
Asus Maximus 2
Intel Core2Duo E8400
4GB G-Skill DDR2
eVGA GTX 460
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB
4x Western Digital Caviar Green AV HDD

Booth PCs use nVidia's audio out through the HDMI port to home theater receivers.

5 out of 5 eggsRe-Review (after RMA)

Pros: Two sets. I ran MemTest for each stick with and without overclock--saw 0 errors. Running these at 1700mhz and cas7 without a problem. Stability as a set=great, but there's a new problem (see cons). Nicely made, overclock well, and quite good-looking.

Cons: This new issue has me puzzled, but I'm not deducting an egg because it might be something I'm doing. I can't get the two sets to work simultaneously (all 6 DIMMs) on an over-clock without stability issues (not POSTing), despite manually setting the timings, upping the voltages, etc. I'm hoping it's something quite obvious I overlooked, but there's very little internet information about it occurring.

Other Thoughts: The RMA time was about 12 business days (I live on the east coast). Technical support is helpful and I'll be contacting them soon.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Low voltage and plenty fast. I was very happy to find a 1.5V set that ran with cas latency of 7 at this clock speed.

Cons: Only one thing to worry about here....those heat spreaders are a bit tall. If you have an aftermarket cpu cooler you may be looking at a little work removing or modding the heat fins on these sticks to get things to fit

Other Thoughts: As with most performance memory, most motherboards will clock it down to 1333MHz, not a hard fix though. I picked up this set back when they were sitting around $140, and I don't regret my decision. Been waiting on the price to grab another set. Might as well wait for cyber Monday now. Absolutely worth whatever you pay for them if you are looking for triple channel sets.

5 out of 5 eggsG Skill is Excellent!!!

Pros: Fantastic memory! Clocked right up to 1600 without a hitch and has been running in my system like a champ ever sense I bought them.

Cons: None Great memory!

Other Thoughts: I will always be a G skill buyer from now on. Used to be a Kingston Hyper X owner but they seem to be charging their loyal customers a little to much these days for quality Ram. G Skill gives you the Quality and the low price.

3 out of 5 eggsLucky if it works well.

Pros: Low voltages! Excellent overclock - 1800mhz with no adjustment to timings (on 2 sticks--see cons). And fast! High quality, nicely designed heatsinks. I haven't adjusted the timings; the XMP profile was of great benefit to performance but see below...

Cons: Got two sets. 4 out of the 6 sticks were problematic. One would cause a boot failure if clocked at 1600 or above. The other 3 had between 1 and 72 errors in Memtest in the overclock. Very inconsistent and I'm not sure if that's to be expected on a very high quality piece of Ram but in general there is always variation.

Other Thoughts: Still, I expect 0 errors for the price and quality. There marketed for overclocking. The 2 that worked were excellent though, but I question the QA of G-Skill...I bought these based on positive reviews and company reputation. I've filled out an RMA and hope their customer service is good. In the meantime, I have some slower Corsair XMS3 1600mhz sticks I'll be using.

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It is very odd multiple modules had issues. Please send them in directly to us for RMA, and replacements should work much better. If you have issues, feel free to contact our technical support department directly and they will make sure the memory operates stable at the rated specifications. You are correct in that the modules should have 0 errors. Even 1 error is a defect to us because G.Skill memory modules should be perfect. This is a high performance kit, so your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Thank you
