4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Runs fine after I got the timing right

Cons: Doesn't run at stable at 1600, runs without issues at 1333. I'm on an older Motherboard, so maybe that's why (Asus Rampage III). It might run stable at 1600 if I updated the BIOS

Other Thoughts: Check for motherboard compatibility

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your system. This triple channel memory kit is a perfect kit for your X58 motherboard. The colors even match so it will be a great look. Although the motherboard is older, it should have no problem handling DDR3-1600 RAM. The ASUS motherboard can support 24GB+ as well, so if you are having strange compatibility issues, it may be best to update the BIOS to improve stability. Once that is complete, make sure to configure settings in BIOS, then the system should be fast and stable with 12GB of DDR3-1600. Should you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Worked at 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 as promised.

Cons: Could not be overclocked at all. I found that it performed worse than the 6 gig 1333mhz corsair dominator I was looking to replace which runs 1900mhz stable in my system. Returned.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory worked as promised in your system. This RAM can definitely be overclocked as with any other G.Skill memory kit. Raising the Voltage or timings will allow you to increase the DRAM frequency. If you would like some pointers on how to achieve an overclock, send us an email or post a thread on the G.Skill forum and many advanced users will be glad to help. This is a high performance memory kit that has proven results. It is one of the best triple channel 12GB kits on the market today. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Ram

Pros: Excellent price. Good name brand quality

Cons: Noticed Windows Blue Screen of Death's... ran MemTest86 v5.01 and sure enough... errors. After NewEgg'ss 30 day return window so I'm contacting Gskill tomorrow to RMA them.

Other Thoughts: I

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got the RAM at an excellent price. This memory kit is above standard, so please make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. With a supported motherboard and CPU, enable XMP Profile and that can take care of settings as well. To determine whether a module is bad, test one module at a time to see if one performs differently. If so, send them in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work much better. Visit the G.Skill web site for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: Cheap
Fast enough
Good timings
Works on X58 mobo

Cons: Heat sink is a tad tall

Other Thoughts: Worked great as an upgrade for an old i7-920 system I have running in triple channel on a p6x58D. Minor OC on the RAM, CPU is @4.38 GHz. Everything is nice and stable.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost worked

Pros: They looked good, the heat spreader being shorter than the other brand allowed them to fit under the cpu heatsink with room to spare. One stick of the other brand died, I had them for 6 years over volted to meet timing specs.

Cons: Ummm wouldnt boot using xmp running at 1600. Finally put them on manual timings at 1300 and they ran. Didnt live up to promises of 1600.

Other Thoughts: I do like them running at 1.5V and not 1.7V. I had higher hopes for this brand and they allowed me to go from 1066 to 1300 but not to 1600. There will be some performance gains but not too much.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you like the appearance of the RAM and they are working well in your system. If XMP is not full stable, try manually inputting the DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage. With a capable CPU, you should have no problem with this memory kit. Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. For all further questions and concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure the RAM is running fast and stable in the computer.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price for a 12gb triple channel kit. Running at listed timings, voltage, and speed. Bought these as an upgrade for an EVGA X58 SLI board, They run well and I am happy with the performance. The heat spreader on the modules look great with my set up as well.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: XMP in BIOS picked up frequency, timings, and voltage right away. Significant decrease in load times in modern games like Dragon Age Inquisition over my previous 6GB that I've had for years.

1.5V. I know that's nothing to brag about but I bought my last 6GB kit in 2009 when a lot of high-end triple-channel DDR3 sets needed 1.65V to run 1600Mhz. Not all, but some, and that's what I had. That's pretty much the upper limit for LGA1366/x58 as far as I know on mem voltage. I appreciate the decrease in voltage demand and heat production.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I've been running 6GB (3x2GB) triple channel on an x58 system since 2009 and finally got myself a respectable amount of memory. One of the best things I've ever upgraded on this system.
