Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with this memory. This memory kit is easily capable of overclocking by adjusting timings and voltage. The rated voltage is 1.55V, and it can be raised to 1.65V to achieve much better results. All high performance G.Skill memory modules are capable of extreme overclocking, so if you would like assistance in doing so, please feel free to contact us directly. Also, feel free to join the Official G.Skill Forum. You can post a thread and many advanced users, including our techs, will be able to assist you.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT AMD RAM

Pros: Well after putting the ram through the ringer and overclocking tweaking (cursing at it) <lol BTW dose not help<! I got this in my system as of now running at 1600mhz with timings of 7-8-7-16/1c @ 1.58v. I was able to push my OC a little more than before with this ram (jumped up from 1333 ram) as I got 4.4ghz and 2856mhz cpu/nb on my P II X4 970be and I just bought the new sabertooth 990fx so mite just be able to get so more out of it! The board I am on is the M4N98TD-EVO and is not well known for pushing the limits, but has done me right for a year!

Cons: I only have one gripe and that is that I did not buy this ram first! Should have better sales department so I knew it would be compatible with AMD and if G-Skill reads this yell at ASUS to UPDATE there QVL it is only from 2008 ( I guess that i so they can say it is not there board speech, and have you tried just one stick!!!) lol, So if at all possible please market for AMD not just Intel I mean even the package says I7,I5 stuff but not one AMD reference, I am not a AMD fanboy as I own both chips but it would be nice if you did not cater to one or the other

Other Thoughts: I will come back after new board and fill more out as I test it further

1 out of 5 eggsmemory works but not ad overclocked speeds

Pros: 8GB of Ram - that's about it

Cons: doesn't boot at DRR- 2000 with XMP
Doesn't boot at even manual settings or above 1866
Support wasn't that helpful
caused frying and damage of my motherboard
Expensive - better off with much cheaper kits at under $100

Other Thoughts: I have a Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR with latest bios, made for overclocking and supports XMP profile. I set the XMP profile in the bios, the computer didn't even post. I changed and tweaked with the voltages as advised by the G.skill support, this memory never seemed stabled even at 1900, it go into windows but would crash, even at 1333 it started crashing. Turns out the memory modules and the voltage tweaking fried the slots themselves which gave me problems even with my old ram, now only left two slots work which aren't in dual channel. I bought this kit to have hassle-free XMP enabled profile or at least to achieve a very high manual clock, even if its not 2000, at least above 1866, it failed to do that, now I have to deal with gigabyte in replacing my board.
Bought Mushking redline ridgeback, best RAM ever! which it had some light effects like the crucial ballistix tracer, but stability and quality always prevails above all else.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you were unable to stabilize the memory. This memory is designed for the P55 platform, so it is surely not plug and play with your P45. XMP can be read by your motherboard, but it is not the proper method to configure this memory. With a LGA775 socket, you must overclock your CPU FSB to 2000MHz in order to operate this memory at DDR3-2000. The memory can only go as fast as your CPU FSB. So if this is not done, or if the overclock is unstable, the memory will be completely unstable as well. It can be difficult as it requires advanced overclocking experience. In the future, please post a thread in our forum so we can help overclock, or purchase a memory kit designed for your motherboard platform. If you have any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsBest Low-Profile Memory on AMD

Pros: I called GSkill and asked if this would run @2000 stably on my ASUS CH IV Mobo and they said yes but i may have to add more voltage. I have and its awesome. running @ 2006 Cpu @4.1 (Phenom IIx6 1090T). Using the stated timings. Also it easily fits under my Noctua NH-D14(I constantly although very nimbly take them out of all the slots without removing my Noctua DH-14)

Cons: None Whatsoever..wait, maybe that i haven't been able to get them to run@ 1T instead of 2T. In usage i cant tell the difference.

Other Thoughts: Running 12g. 8g In two slots(2x4g) then a set of 4g(2x2g) in the other two slots.I actually went to buy a matching 8g but they were sold out so i purchased a 4g set of 2000's and everything's great. Since computers substitute system ram for video ram 12g helps my 1gb video card in A LOT eyefinity. Review sites say ram over 1333 on an AMD system has no need but i highly disagree. Fast ram on an Overclocked Phenom6 systems help them match I7systems.
Cpu: Phenom 2x6 @ 4.1

5 out of 5 eggsfast memory

Pros: good memory for amd as only needs 1.55 volts ,runs very stable at 7-7-7 or 8-8-8 at t1 or cl1 with no bump in voltage, with right am3 mb and cpu could really hit some good higher speeds , nice job G-Skill

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: running NF980-G65 msi motherboard am3 720 be ,wish i had the money to get a new c-3 revison cpu but waiting to see were amd goes with its new am3+ cpus

5 out of 5 eggsG skill ram

Pros: ram runs low 7-7-7 or 8-8-8 at t1 and hits 1600 mzs without any bumb in volts, even on am3 720 be, very stable ram, and price was not much more then the 1866 g skill ram i bout when first built this system, but only had 2x2 gigs this ram for not much more money 2x4gigs with room to upgrade later ,can,t beat that

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: if your runing amd am3 this ram fits it well, if your motherboard has the abilitiy and your cpu has one of the better memory controls are you have the c3 revsion cpu

5 out of 5 eggsBlue Lightning

Pros: Have this running at 2000 Mhz with 1.60 volts on vcore and 9-10-9-27-1T timings. Setup was easy, popped it into my Msi P55-GD80 MB, booted into setup, turned on the extreme memory profile, and was up and running at the speeds listed above within ten minutes of taking out of the package.

Cons: None, memory is running at top rated speed with lower than advertised latency and I think it has more left in it to give if you want to wring out every last drop of performance.

Other Thoughts: The pictures online don't do justice to the heat spreaders which are a brushed metallic blue that is very attractive. From the pictures I had seen I was expecting more of a baby blue but got pleasantly suprised by how much deeper a blue they actually are when seen up close.

5 out of 5 eggsworks as stated/bought for testing

Pros: I am on approved mb for the memory the p7p55d-e pro and clicked xmp profile and it set all settings ( I did change from 2n to 1n (2t-1t) for experimentation and it works either way but I notice no gains on tests. I also had to manualy put volts to 1.55 vs 1.6 auto (works same either way)- then swapped mp to overclock cpu to 4.2

Cons: none as it worked exactaly at specs.
used to compare 2 memory banks with 4vs 8 gb as all "professional" review sites I saw only tested 4vs8gb while making 8gb populate both banks which causes pc to (in simple terms) take an extra step to search for info so the tests were not fair or thought out or they really just don't get it

Other Thoughts: I will say I could not even overclock it to 2100 no matter what without errors/no crashes but definate errors.Again it's really not a con because they don't advertise it at 2100. This was an experiment as I had seen tests 4gb vs 8gb for gaming and they showed less fps with 8gb but what they were doing(the expert reviewers) was populating 4 banks with 2gb dimms wich isn't apples for apples. sooo results are in not a single game did I lose fps at all and yet on games like crysis/and warhead running the 64 bit program I gained fps and in one particular explosion I gained 7 fps. vs g.skill 2 dimms 4gb (I matched clocks timings and all settings at 1800mhz for tests. NOTE:all around fps gains were only seen on the 64 bit games but drastic drop in fps was lessened in both the 32 bit version and 64 bit version. This memory performed excellent all the way around and leves more room for opening other programs at same time/gee I waste money sometimes

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Extremely fast. (7.9 Windows performance index)
No clearance issues with Noctua D14

Cons: On sandy bridge systems runs on 1866. I knew that going in though, and 9-10-9-28-1T is not bad.
