Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. This RipJaws X series memory is definitely compatible with your ASUS Z68 motherboard. Please test one module at a time to see if one may be bad causing problems. Also, since this kit is above standard, make sure to enable XMP under AI Overclock Tuner in EFI/BIOS. The memory settings must be manually input in order for the computer to work properly, but the system needs to POST to allow you to do this. Consequently, if the system does not POST at all, it is possible the motherboard is defective and needs to be replaced. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsFast, No problems

Pros: I haven't had any problems with this RAM, it performs as expected.

Cons: Price is twice as much as the CAS 9 but 50 dollars more isn't that big of a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm too sexy for my CAS

Pros: Great memory! I picked up 2 pairs of these to max out my Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3. My MB detected them at 1600, but I did need to tweak the timings to get that wonderful 7.9 on WEI.

Cons: Far too sexy. Too easy to install. Not sharp enough (I'm always disappointed when the RAM isn't dangerous enough to draw blood.)

Other Thoughts: i5/2500K, Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3, Corsair H100, CoolerMaster HAF 932, Corsair 180GB SSD Force Series 3, ATI Radeon 6950 (Sapphire, 2GB), RAIDMAX RX-850AE PS.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: Great ram. Will match blue motherboards.

Cons: A little pricey for 1600 mhz. Though nice heatsink.

Other Thoughts: Returned for a refund. Thought one of the sticks were bad but found out later that one of my DIMM slots was bad. Returned the ram and then the Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z motherboard.

Re-purchased new ram. 16 gigs of Mushkin Redline 1600mhz 7 latency 997000. I'm trying to buy products that are made in the USA. Mushkin customer support is top notch.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM once setup

Pros: I bought this RAM because it was on the QVL for the motherboard I chose for my first computer build (ASUS Crosshair Formula V). The computer initially posted and I was able to install windows and all was good for a few hours until I started to get BSOD's every few minutes.
Then the computer would not POST at all but luckily the DIMM led light on the motherboard. I tested one stick at a time in each slot and finally got the computer to POST again. I went to the G.Skill forum and read about how to manually set the timing for this RAM.
The BIOS originally said this RAM was running at 11-11-11-30 but I was able to manually set to 7-8-7-24 and I also increased the NB Freq. to 2400 MHz and added .10 V to the CPU-NB. Since then I have not had 1 BSOD in the past two days of gaming and surfing the net. My WEI even increased from 7.5 to 7.6 after making the changes. I am very happy with this purchase now that I hopefully have all of the bugs worked out.

Cons: The RAM was initially set at 11-11-11-30 but was able to change to 7-8-7-24 at 1600 MHz. Not really the RAM's fault, more the motherboard so I will not take an egg off for that. The RAM also took a considerable bit of force to lock into the DIMM slots on the motherboard, but then again I feel that is the fault of the motherboard and not the RAM.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. The G.Skill forums were a great help in helping me to figure out how to change the timings in BIOS since this was my first computer build. I wish the sticker on the sticks was red so it would match the led's on my HAF X.
