5 out of 5 eggsFast fast fast!

Pros: Very good and fast RAM! Works well on my Z97-A Motherboard and my EVO212 doesn't crash into it. Hopefully my NH-D14 would not when i switch over to that. With a CAS 8, this thing is superb!!

Cons: If only RAM was cheaper.

Other Thoughts: For some reason when I was installing my OS for the first time, I had to remove one ram stick from the slot in order for it to boot. But I replaced after the first boot and it ran flawlessly. I did check to see if it was seated properly, and yes it was.

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Ripjaws X

Pros: Timings set manually in my Gigabyte UD3 990FX motherboard, then ran smoothly. I don't expect for RAM to always clock in on it's own, but dang, would that be cool..

Speedy RAM. Much fast. So vroom. 1600 MHz, can't complain about that, am I right? Heh, no, you can't, though I got my 2 x 4 GB sticks for 59.99$ on sale.

The colors look nice in my AMD setup, despite AMDs current colors are displaying Black/Red. I like blue though, despite me not feeling blue at all about this RAM.

Cons: < This word is on the wrong page. Move on over to another page, please.

Other Thoughts: If I were you, I'd simply wait for this to go on sale. It's 90$ at the moment...I got it for two thirds of that price, and that's superb price per performance if you go the cheaper route and sit it out. Though, it is entirely up to you.

5 out of 5 eggsI jinxed it

Pros: This is a follow up on previous review.

Cons: Not per say

Other Thoughts: When I received my new SSD and tried to install 8.1 on it. It would return several error among which memory_management error. At first i tought it was the SSD that was defective but i was able to install the OS on it when in another computer.
I downloaded memtest86 and checked each card one by one. Of the 4, one was defective. Newegg RMA went smooth and efficiently. I tested the replacement and all of them together and all is well now.

I really like the performance and hope this was just a bad luck of the draw and that the rest will endure. Time will tell

5 out of 5 eggsLove'em

Pros: I knew nothing about RAM and such and after extensive research for subject matter general knowledge and comparision of perf charts, reviews, prices, especially write time, i built myself an Excel spread sheet and came to the conclusion that the Ripjaws F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM were the best buy perf/price (I would have gone for the CL7 GBZM but they were out of stock).

I was a bit nervous cuz it was not specified if i5 4th gen cores were supported or if my motherboard would take it. I was also scared to have to give myself a google crash course on Bios stuff (timing)

I dont know much about hardware and if it would not have worked, I would have had a terrible time figuring if I was doing wrong or if it was a hw compatibility issue.

Well... it was an amazing relief and joyful feeling to turn on the machine which booted smoothly. Everything worked as if I had not opened the case!!! And I got the speed and stability I needed!

Lenovo ThinkCenter m83
i5 core 4th generation
OS 8.1

Cons: In the ThinkCenter m83 SFF, the first channel is located below the heat sink fan assembly wide diffusion plastic structure. A standard Ramaxel fits underneath with lots of space above. However the Ripjaws touches the bottom of the sink plastic. I am a bit concerned about fan vibration and heat transfer. I'm hopeful that since the sink is plastic, it won't transfer as much heat to the Ripjaws aluminum feathers.

Other Thoughts: Great first experience playing with CRU/FRU stuff for a newbie
