5 out of 5 eggsNot to shabby

Pros: Speedy and low cost.

Low numbers on all the things you want with RAM such as CAS and so on.

Cons: That it was not lower cost!

4 out of 5 eggsAlways Works!

Pros: Price
Reliable

Cons: Looks??

Other Thoughts: I have used G Skill memory in more builds than I can count. It always works. I have never once received a DOA stick from G Skill. This stuff is rock solid.

My only complaint and why I took an egg off is the appearance. In my younger days, I found the red fins of the Ripjaws heat spreader to look bad to the bone. Now, I find it gaudy and cheesy looking. I was into flashy ram and led lights once... we all remember our first gaming PC :). Now the heat spreaders just get in the way and cause problems when installing CPU coolers.

G Skill is still super reliable and maybe you like the looks. I just want memory that is reliable, low profile, and clean looking. I think bare, black, exposed memory sticks look the best, but that's just my preference now.

G Skill, please put out a line of high performance, low voltage, enthusiast class memory that is black and without heat spreaders.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job...

Pros: Does the job and then some. Bought at 49$ and couldn't be happier. I would even recommend this RAM at full price. As others have said, remember to change your speed in your BIOS to 1866 if that's the speed you want, otherwise it IS stock at 1600. Thanks GSKILL and NEWEGG.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsDisregard my previous review!

Pros: If you get BSOD or a black screen after installing this ram, try this, it might help you like it helped me!

I stuck two ram sticks in first, then went into the BIOS (press del when PC starts) and changed my ram profile to XMP. Before, I couldn't even change the profile to XMP when I installed all 4 sticks at once--the PC would just freeze on me.

At any rate, that seemed to make the PC recognize what type of ram is coming in. After doing this, the PC booted up normally. I added the two extra sticks for a full 2x4 gig setup and I got a prompt basically asking me to set the clock speed for the ram (I picked 1866 since this ram is rated at that clock speed). After doing so and saving my changes, the PC booted up no problem.

I have noticed improvements in load time and in opening files and applications, and only time will tell if these ram sticks hold up. I haven't tested them with new ram intensive games yet. I will make another review in a few months.

Ram wasn't defective!

Cons: None thus far.

2 out of 5 eggs2 out of 4 work

Pros: Ram works, needed to enter BIOS and select XMP in order to set the clock speed at 1866, wasn't too hard to do. Just got the ram today, will update my review later (look at cons). I am upgrading from Corsair Vengeance memory sticks, 1600 MHZ 2x4 gigs, thanks for the deal newegg!

Cons: Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 sticks I bought were DOA. I tried inserting the sticks in different configurations, but I either got BSOD concerning "page faults in nonpaged areas," or the PC would fail to boot at all. Googled the BSOD message and figured out it is caused by defective memory sticks. I just ordered a RMA and hope the replacement sticks work fine.

Other Thoughts: Once the replacements are received and successfully installed, I am sure I will give this an overall 5 egg rating!

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. With two separate kits, test each to see if they perform the same. It is not guaranteed two separate kits can work together at the rated specifications; it is best to purchase a single 16GB kit that has been pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed from factory. In addition, most CPUs will not natively support full slots of DDR3-1866, so there are many possible causes for what you are experiencing. A BSOD does not simply mean the RAM is defective, it is a basic indicator for possible cause. Let us know how it goes with the new kit, we will get 16GB of DDR3-1866 working flawlessly in your computer.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat dual-channel kit

Pros: -Solid memory speed

-Great OC'er

-Aggressive design

Cons: -Color choice is limited

Other Thoughts: Color wasn't enough to take an egg away on this kit, but I am disappointed about the limited color variety (only comes in red and light blue). Solid RAM for the money. A great kit to throw in any gaming build!

4 out of 5 eggsI only rate memory on how good it lasts.

Pros: I rate my memory on weather it goes bad or not. I have been in the business for 25 years now and the place I work at has had a few issues with G.Skill memory. But due to price I decided to order a pair of 4gb modules. I put them in an Asus socket am3+ Motherboard with a fx processor. We will see how they last. Also I don't over clock so they should be fine

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorked out the box, no issues

Pros: Worked out the box, no issues, had to set to 1866 with 9-10-9-28
