5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Bought these for my new PC and after turning the XMP on they ran at 1866 no problem. After OC they went up to 2133 and still no issues. Great stable memory.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm buying another set as soon as I can. Worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome RAM

Pros: The RAM works great, that's all I have to really say... I have 8gb of it now and I just ordered 8 more 2 days ago. This RAM replaced my 1333mhz ones, not much of a difference but definitely an improvement

Cons: It runs default at 1600mhz, but you can change it to 1866 in the bios. No reason to doc an egg for that

5 out of 5 eggsNeed Set Up

Pros: So far so good.

Cons: Maybe need some setup in BIOS

Other Thoughts: I'm using these two memory card with my ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, it won't be working at 1866 at first, instead at 1600. If you encounter the same problem, you need change the timing manually. Other than that, everything seems good.

Other Thoughts: I've only bought GSkill memory after my first purchase, you absolutely can't go wrong with these things. You have a loyal customer now, these sticks go in all the builds I do

4 out of 5 eggsMust Load XMP Profiles

Pros: Runs at 1866 (only when) using XMP Profile(s) in Bios...
but just marginally at 1.5v. Not bad performance for the voltage.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If just plugged into my mobo modules run at 1600Mhz with stock Bios settengs. When I changed Bios to XMP (Profile 1), timings changed to 1866 at 9-10-9-27 with Cmd Clk =2 at 1.5v, and my sticks are just barely stable. I am considering tweaking voltage up to ~1.52. XMP Profile 2 lowers Cmd Clk =1 and they will not post. Still happy

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you are happy with your purchase and the RAM is running as advertised in your system. The XMP profile contains the rated specifications of the RAM, so the user must enable it for the motherboard to automatically recognize those values. In most cases there are two profiles, use the one that is most stable for your system. Another method is to manually input each memory setting. Without any adjustment, the system can only default to standard values up to DDR3-1600 CL11. This is true for all DDR3 motherboards. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: -=Paired with 8350=-
When paired with an 8350 this is amazing! I love it, no crashes. Ran Dayz, Skyrim, and GMod and had 1.9Gb free. Small heatsink clear most CPU heatsinks

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Perfect for my build.
