5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram

Pros: High frequency, good timings, low cost.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: The stuff runs well, I have 16gb of it and no problems with any of the sticks after running tests and using the PC it's in for about a week. I don't think you can find 8gb of better ram for the price, same goes for if you buy 2 packs.

Pros: the good module works great

Cons: I got one really buggy module that blue screened when any heavy game was played. waiting on rma replacement.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you received a bad module. Please send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawlessly. This memory kit is above standard, so it is necessary to manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI, or enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP performance profile. With the proper settings, the memory should be very fast and stable in your computer. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. If you have any questions or issues with the new kit, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsBest for the Bux

Pros: For the dollars spent, this is great memory. Runs great at 1866. Using this memory in an Asus Sabertooth Gen3/R2 motherboard and yes it does work great with it. Although it's not listed in the compatibles list.
I ended up running 16gb worth. Works great.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Grab as much as you want. I've used G Skill for many years. Never had an issue with it.

5 out of 5 eggsnew guns are always fun in games

Pros: The design of the heatsinks. 2=8GB. DDR3 1866. CAS 9. Lower profile heatsinks than most. Lower price than most at this speed. Makes me happy.

Cons: heatsinks could be a few mm shorter, but this not a legit con.

Other Thoughts: Ran at CL9-9-9-26 1.5v fine through memtest. Will see what more I can get out of them later on.
Description says the heatsinks are designed to look like a gun but I don't really see it, they just look sleek and cool. Heatsinks are still a tad bit too high. If you have a board with slots too close to your CPU cooler they more than likely won't fit, like when using a CM 212. Lucky with the board I'm using at the moment they just make it. If only 2 sticks you can still switch to slot 2\4 instead.
People got to realize before installing new memory: the fastest I've ever seen a motherboard default to is 1600. You almost always have to input default timings yourself in the BIOS.

2 out of 5 eggsFirst Time User

Pros: Great price, looks cool!

Cons: Month eight I started having little issues with my PC. Month nine it got to the point video streams where freezing up, then downloads where corrupt. Memory test would fail and not finish. So I tested each stick and one stick passed the other is bad. This is the first time I have used G.Skill in any of my builds for me or customers and first time I have had bad ram. I have sent an RMA request to get the one stick replaced.

Other Thoughts: I would have given 2.5 stars if possible as one stick is still good so it would have earned half of the 5 star rating. I am still thinking of replacing this ram with what I normally use. Just thought I would try something different this build. Can't say it impressed me. If it would have been the only ram I ever used and this was the first time I had bad ram I wouldn't be thinking of replacing it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It is very strange a module is bad, please send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawlessly. This is a high performance memory kit, so you will be very pleased with the result. Once you receive the new module, enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP profile, or manually input the basic DRAM settings, then everything will be ready to go at full speed. Should you need any assistance with this, feel free to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team will make sure the RAM is running fast and stable in your computer.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: great stuff! no paging is need with 8GB on a mild gaming system. runs solid... and quiet!=p

Cons: advertised at 1866MHz but runs at 1600MHz until proper timing settings are set. could be my mb??? asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 although oc isn't until running RAM @ 2133MHz

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is running solid in your system. ALL DDR3 motherboards can only AUTO default up to DDR3-1600 CL11 1.50V (JEDEC SPD Specification), so when using performance RAM above this standard, you will need to manually input settings, or enable the DOCP/EOCP performance profile to reach DDR3-1866 and above. Once completed in BIOS, your computer will be fast and stable at the rated specifications of the RAM. For your convenience, here is our guide to configure settings:

3 out of 5 eggsOne bad stick

Pros: Decent memory for the price

Cons: One of the two 4 gig sticks was bad out of the package.

Other Thoughts: Just built a system for a friend and got this memory because she was on a budget. This is my first time having defective equipment out of the package. I've put together many systems from scratch over the years, was bound that it should happen sometime. Just a little disappointed, but it happens. This is not a perfect world. She can still use the one stick while RMAing the bad one.
